Former Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee receives a disciplinary warning.

Specifically, the Prime Minister issued a warning to Mr. Tran Van Can, former Chairman of the People's Committee of Long An province for the 2016-2021 term (from June 2016 to October 2020), for violations and shortcomings in his work, and the Central Inspection Committee had already imposed disciplinary action against him within the Party.

The disciplinary action will take effect from the date of the announcement of Decision No. 1540-QD/UBKTTW dated June 24, 2024, of the Central Inspection Committee.

* Previously, at its 42nd session, the Central Disciplinary Committee reviewed and concluded on the disciplinary action against Mr. Tran Van Can, former Chairman of the People's Committee of Long An province.

The Central Inspection Committee found that Mr. Tran Van Can, former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Long An province, and Chairman of the People's Committee of Long An province, violated Party regulations and State laws in performing his assigned duties and responsibilities; in leading and directing the implementation of contracts carried out by the International Advanced Corporation (AIC) and enterprises within the AIC ecosystem; violated regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility of setting an example; causing serious consequences, negative public opinion, and diminishing the prestige of the Party organization and local government, to the extent that disciplinary action must be considered and taken.

Based on Party regulations, the Central Disciplinary Committee decided to issue a Warning to Mr. Tran Van Can.
