Disciplinary action against a group of commune officials involved in gambling for money
On the afternoon of October 7, the People's Committee of Huong Thuy Town (Thua Thien Hue Province) announced that after verification, it had decided to discipline 5 civil servants working at the People's Committee of Thuy Phu Commune related to the people's accusations of gambling for money.
Accordingly, a resident of Thuy Phu commune filed a complaint with a video clip showing some officials of Thuy Phu commune gambling for money at the Thuy Phu commune militia office.
Through verification, Mr. Phan Viet Tang, former captain of Thuy Phu commune, after witnessing commune officials gambling for money at the commune team's office, used his cell phone to record a video and provided it to the people to report.

After verification, the Inspection Committee of Huong Thuy Town Party Committee clarified: In December 2015, 4 commune officials participated in gambling for money in the form of Phom card games at the commune team room of Thuy Phu commune. They were: Mr. Phan Van Tri, Standing Deputy Secretary of Thuy Phu Commune Party Committee; Mr. Le Huu Tri, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee; Mr. Ngo Viet Vinh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and Mr. Ngo Xuan Thu, Chief of Thuy Phu Commune Police.

It is known that after the denunciation, Mr. Phan Viet Tang submitted a resignation letter. Currently, Mr. Thu and Mr. Tri have been disciplined with a warning. Mr. Tri and Mr. Vinh have been reprimanded. Mr. Tang himself (the person who filmed the gambling video) has also been disciplined with a warning.
