Commemorating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Traditional Liaison Committee of the Delta Division – 320th Division in the Nghe An – Ha Tinh region.
On the morning of March 21st, in Truong Vinh ward, the Traditional Liaison Committee of the Dong Bang Division – 320th Division in the Nghe An – Ha Tinh area organized a ceremony to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its founding. Attending the ceremony was Comrade Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.
Before the commemoration ceremony, delegates solemnly laid wreaths and reported their achievements to President Ho Chi Minh at the square named after him.
The Liaison Committee of the 320th Division's comrades-in-arms in Vinh City was established on March 26, 1996, with 24 members. These are mainly veterans who enlisted in May 1971, as part of the 320th Division, and went south to participate in the war against the US to save the country.
At the 30th anniversary celebration of the liberation of Southern Vietnam in 2005, the Liaison Committee officially changed its name to the Traditional Liaison Committee of the Delta Division – 320th Division of Nghe An – Ha Tinh, in order to ensure consistency with the entire Division system.
Over 30 years of establishment and development, the Traditional Liaison Committee of the Delta Division - 320th Division of Nghe An - Ha Tinh has now formed 8 branches in the areas of Vinh, Hung Nguyen, Nam Dan, Tan Ky, Nghia Dan, Dien Yen Quynh, and Nghi Loc, with nearly 500 members.
The committee operates on a completely voluntary basis, driven by camaraderie and mutual support; all funding comes from voluntary contributions from veterans and their comrades, with no external sponsorship solicited.
Looking back over the past 30 years, the Traditional Liaison Committee of the Delta Division – 320th Division of Nghe An – Ha Tinh has carried out many practical and meaningful activities, becoming the core of many activities of the National Liaison Committee of the 320th Division.
This included coordinating the search and collection of 5 remains of fallen soldiers and bringing 19 soldiers back to their hometowns and families. It also involved supporting comrades in receiving post-war benefits and policies, visiting and encouraging members who were ill or facing difficulties, and campaigning for the construction of memorials and historical sites to honor fallen comrades at the high points of Chu Bo (Duc Co, Gia Lai), 1015 (Charlie), and 1049 (Delta) in Sa Thay (Kon Tum).
In December 2017, 28 veterans from the Nghe An - Ha Tinh regional liaison committee directly participated in the construction of memorial monuments at high points 1015 and 1049. The total cost of building the three memorial monuments was nearly 9 billion VND, of which the late Lieutenant General and Hero of the People's Armed Forces Khuất Duy Tiến contributed 800 million VND, and the remainder was contributed by veteran Le Manh Hai - Director of Phu Nguyen Hai Co., Ltd. and other comrades.
The Nghe An - Ha Tinh regional liaison committee actively participated in community-oriented activities such as calling on comrades to contribute and support the two communes of Ro Koi and Ho Moong (Sa Thay district, former Kon Tum province), and Bua village, IAPNON commune, Gia Lai province, with 1,000-2,000 kg of rice and thousands of face masks for each commune during the Covid-19 pandemic. In 2024, they mobilized donations to support the families of 5 comrades affected by Typhoon No. 3 in Quang Ninh and Yen Bai provinces. In 2025, they mobilized support for Typhoons No. 3, No. 5, and No. 10 affecting Nghe An province with a total amount of 34.9 million VND.
These activities have contributed to educating people about the tradition of "drinking water, remembering the source"; enhancing and spreading the image of the soldiers of the Delta Division - 320th Division and the glorious traditions of the Vietnam People's Army.
This also serves as motivation for veterans, despite their advanced age, frail health, and many bearing disabilities, to persistently dedicate their spirit and resources to the journey of paying tribute and searching for comrades who remain on the battlefields.
