Commemorating the 76th anniversary of the Do Luong Uprising
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 13th, Do Luong district held a ceremony to offer incense in commemoration of the 76th anniversary of the Do Luong Uprising (January 13, 1941 - January 13, 2017).
On the night of January 13, 1941, Doi Cung and 11 soldiers from the Cho Rang outpost advanced to capture the Do Luong outpost, killing the outpost commander. They then joined 25 soldiers from the outpost in attacking the Vinh outpost that same night. However, due to being exposed, they failed to capture the guard barracks, the rebels were suppressed, and the mutiny ended. Doi Cung was subsequently arrested, and by the end of February 1941, the Hanoi Military Court had tried 51 defendants in the Rang-Do Luong Uprising. Doi Cung and 10 others were sentenced to death, 12 received life sentences, and 2 received 20 years of hard labor.

The Do Luong Uprising, also known by other names such as the Rang Luong Mutiny or the Do Luong Uprising, although unsuccessful, demonstrated the patriotic spirit of revolutionary fighters who refused to be enslaved or forced into hard labor, rising up to fight against foreign invaders. This uprising served as a wake-up call for subsequent uprisings to achieve victory.
Building on that tradition, in 2016, the Party Committee and people of Do Luong district continuously competed, united, and overcame difficulties to achieve many victories in various fields, building their homeland into an increasingly modernized and developed place.
