Celebrating the 88th Anniversary of the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 3, the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association of Nghe An province organized a friendship exchange to celebrate the 88th anniversary of thebirth of King Fumihphon Abdul-Daswade andNational Day of the Kingdom of Thailand (December 5, 1927 - December 5, 2015).

Attending the ceremony were comrade Luong Thanh Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Ethnic Minorities Committee; representatives of provincial departments and branches and a large number of members of the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association of Nghe An province and 12 delegations of Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Associations from many provinces and cities across the country.

At the ceremony, delegates reviewed the special milestones in the friendly relationship between Vietnam in general, Nghe An province in particular, and Thailand. Vietnam and Thailand have many similarities in cultural traditions, and the people of the two countries have a long-standing relationship. Currently, the two countries are preparing to welcome the historic event of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations (August 6, 1976 - August 6, 2016) and the formation of the ASEAN Community at the end of this year.

Nghe An and the northeastern provinces of Thailand are close to each other in terms of geographical distance and convenient transportation. Many high-ranking delegations from Nghe An province and provinces such as Na Khon Pha Nom, Xa Con Na Khon, Noong Khai, Udonthani, etc. regularly pay friendly visits, hold talks, sign important documents, laying the foundation for expanding cooperation, complementing strengths, and exploiting each other's potential with the motto of mutual benefit.

At the ceremony, the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association of Nghe An province also summarized the Association's work in 2015 and oriented tasks for 2016. In the past time, the Association has done well in information and foreign propaganda work, organized and participated in friendly exchange activities, directly acting as a bridge to promote investment cooperation for socio-economic development.
