Celebrating the 88th National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 3rd, the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association of Nghe An province organized a friendly exchange to celebrate the 88th anniversary of the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association.birth of King Phoumiphon Adulyadej andNational Day of the Kingdom of Thailand (December 5, 1927 - December 5, 2015).

Attending the celebration were Comrade Luong Thanh Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Ethnic Affairs Committee; representatives from provincial departments and agencies; and a large number of members of the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association of Nghe An province, along with 12 delegations from Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Associations from many provinces and cities across the country.

The cultural performance to celebrate the anniversary was presented by Thai students studying at Vinh University.

At the commemoration ceremony, delegates reviewed the special milestones in the friendly relationship between Vietnam in general, and Nghe An province in particular, with Thailand. Vietnam and Thailand share many similarities in cultural traditions, and the people of the two countries have a long-standing close relationship. Currently, the two countries are preparing to celebrate the historic event of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (August 6, 1976 - August 6, 2016) and the formation of the ASEAN Community at the end of this year.

Mr. Nguyen Bui Thai, member of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association and Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association of Nghe An province, delivered a commemorative speech.

Nghe An province and the northeastern provinces of Thailand are geographically close, with convenient transportation links. Many high-level delegations from Nghe An province and other provinces such as Nakhon Phanom, Sakon Nakhon, Nong Khai, Udon Thani, etc., frequently visit each other for friendly talks, holding discussions and signing important documents, laying the foundation for expanding cooperation, complementing each other's strengths, and exploiting each other's potential with a mutually beneficial approach.

Mr. Ho Ba Loc, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association of Nghe An province, presented a summary report on the Association's work in 2015 and outlined its tasks for 2016.

At the celebration, the Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association of Nghe An province also reviewed its work in 2015 and outlined its tasks for 2016. Over the past year, the Association has effectively carried out its work in external information and propaganda, organized and participated in friendly exchange activities, and directly acted as a bridge to promote cooperation and investment for socio-economic development.

The Vietnam-Thailand Friendship Association of Nghe An province, in coordination with the Thailand-Vietnam Friendship Association in other provinces of Thailand, has organized exchanges in various forms and achieved many positive results.

The Nghe An Provincial Federation of Friendship Organizations awarded commendations to collectives and individuals who have made significant contributions to the work of the Federation.
