Celebrating the 95th anniversary of Than Newspaper, the 60th anniversary of the first issue of Quang Ninh Newspaper, the 40th anniversary of television broadcasting, and the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Quang Ninh Provincial Media Center.

Attending the ceremony were: Comrade Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; Comrade Nguyen Xuan Ky - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of Quang Ninh. Also present were representatives from the Ministry of Information and Communications; Vietnam Television; the Vietnam Journalists Association; leaders of departments, agencies, and localities; representatives of central and provincial press agencies nationwide...

Representing the press agencies of Nghe An province were: Mr. Tran Minh Ngoc - Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, Director of Nghe An Radio and Television Station; and Mr. Ngo Duc Kien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper.

At the commemoration ceremony, Comrade Mai Vu Tuan - Director of the Provincial Communication Center and Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial Journalists Association - emphasized: The history of Quang Ninh's press is closely linked to the birth of Than Newspaper - the first Party newspaper in the mining region, the predecessor of today's Quang Ninh Newspaper, from the end of 1928.

Inheriting the traditions of their forefathers, over the past 95 years, revolutionary journalism in the Quang Ninh mining region has continuously developed. The team of journalists has proactively studied and trained in political acumen, professional ethics, expertise, foreign languages, information technology application, and multimedia journalism skills.

Following the directives of the Central Party Secretariat, on December 18, 2018, the Standing Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee issued Decision No. 1276-QD/TU, implementing the merger of the province's information and press agencies, including: Quang Ninh Newspaper, Quang Ninh Provincial Radio and Television Station, Quang Ninh Provincial General Information Portal (under the Office of the National Assembly Delegation - People's Council - People's Committee of Quang Ninh Province), and Ha Long Newspaper (under the Quang Ninh Provincial Association of Literature and Arts).

The decision to establish the Quang Ninh Provincial Media Center is a groundbreaking political decision by the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, giving birth to the first unified provincial-level media agency model in the country. This further affirms the innovative thinking, creative actions, and pioneering spirit of Quang Ninh province in implementing the viewpoints, policies, and guidelines of the Party and the State.

The Quang Ninh Provincial Media Center currently maintains stable communication channels across all four media types: television, radio, print, and online, including: 2 television channels; 2 radio channels; the daily Quang Ninh print newspaper, Quang Ninh Weekend newspaper, Ha Long newspaper, Hoa Sen special edition, Quang Ninh online newspaper; the Quang Ninh Media app, YouTube channel, Fanpage - QMG Quang Ninh News 24/7, TikTok channel, Zalo, and operates the provincial electronic information portal.

To date, the Quang Ninh Provincial Media Center has been established and operational for five years. Overcoming difficulties, the Center has quickly consolidated the human and material resources of former media agencies, diversified its journalistic forms and products, especially modern media products; increased the number of self-produced news articles, creating a powerful information and propaganda force to guide public opinion, opening up opportunities to carry out large-scale media campaigns; mastering the official information flow of the province, increasing the strength and trust of the people in the leadership of the Party and the State.

Speaking at the celebration, Comrade Le Quoc Minh - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, and President of the Vietnam Journalists Association - acknowledged and praised the achievements that Quang Ninh's press has made throughout its long journey.

In particular, Comrade Le Quoc Minh highly appreciated the success of the media center model that Quang Ninh has implemented. He emphasized: Abroad, the media conglomerate model has existed for a long time. With the development of modern journalism, the boundaries between print, radio, television, electronic media, and many other forms have become blurred. Media organizations now need to be able to simultaneously implement all types of media to easily reach the public. Therefore, the model of merging media organizations into the Quang Ninh Provincial Media Center is a very important direction and a trend in the development of modern journalism.

Looking ahead, Comrade Le Quoc Minh hopes that the Quang Ninh press will not rest on its laurels but will continue to strive for even greater achievements. Because with the current development of technology, especially artificial intelligence, journalism will face many difficulties in the future. Therefore, if journalists do not prepare themselves with the right mindset, a willingness to learn, and effective methods, they will lose on the media front.
