Instead of using regular nail polish, the Deadly Nails salon uses animal carcasses such as butterflies, snakes, and praying mantises to beautify their customers' nails.
Wanting to express their individuality, women often choose animal prints for their clothing as well as their fingernails and toenails. To take the style to the next level, Deadly Nails, a nail salon in Melbourne, Australia, even uses animal skins as nail embellishments instead of traditional nail polish. Although it looks quite edgy, this trend is currently being embraced by many women in Australia.

| Only someone with a strong personality would want to get their nails done from scorpion carcasses like this. |
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Nicole Casti, the shop owner, said she got the idea for this unique nail art style when her child brought home a dead butterfly. Although it was no longer alive, its colorful wings captivated Nicole, making her realize that beauty sometimes exists even in the dead.
Besides butterflies, this nail technician with 11 years of experience also uses scorpions, praying mantises, snakes, and geckos. First, she collects the animal carcasses and carefully cleans them at home. Next, Nicole uses chemicals, glue, or acrylic paint to firmly attach the animal carcasses to the nails before painting and decorating them.
However, Deadly Nails has also faced heavy criticism for its misuse of animal carcasses in beauty treatments. Some have accused them of intentionally killing animals to obtain materials for nail art. Despite this, Nicole insists that all the animal carcasses she obtains are donated by customers and acquaintances.
