Ky Son: 3 billion VND paid for forest environmental services to 1,000 households.

(Baonghean.vn) - From the beginning of 2015 until now, the Ky Son Protective Forest Management Board has paid 3/6 billion VND in forest environmental service fees to 108 household groups with more than 1,000 households, including 9 communes, protecting 24,555.7 hectares of forest concentrated in the catchment area of ​​the Ban Ve hydropower plant.

Residents of Dooc May commune, Ky Son district, are completing procedures to receive environmental service fees.

Mr. Cao Van Quynh, Head of the Ky Son Protective Forest Management Board, said: The remaining 3 billion VND will be paid by the Ky Son Protective Forest Management Board in February 2016. Thanks to the policy of paying for forest environmental services, it has significantly contributed to forest management and protection, job creation, and increased income for the people in the Ky Son highlands, allowing them to confidently protect the forest.

Many households were delighted to receive payment for forest environmental protection services.
