Ky Son: 200 new houses have been handed over to residents.
(Baonghean.vn) - As of March 23rd, after 17 days of campaigning, building foundations, and assembling houses for poor households with support from the Provincial Police leadership and the Ministry of Public Security, 200 households in Ky Son have received new houses.
Ky Son has also completed 472 out of 500 house foundations. At the same time, 200 out of 500 houses have been assembled, completed, and handed over to the people.
In the first phase of house construction, Ky Son district selected Chieu Luu commune as a pilot area with 123 households. To date, all 123 households in Chieu Luu commune have received new houses. Other localities have also completed 100% of the necessary foundations and are finalizing the prefabricated houses, such as Huoi Tu commune (10 houses), Bao Thang commune (18 houses), and Huu Kiem commune (10 houses). Chieu Luu and Huoi Tu communes have completed and handed over 100% of the prefabricated houses to the residents.

Ky Son aims to complete the site preparation and assembly of 500 houses in 9 inland communes before March 30, 2023. Alongside the handover of houses in the 9 inland communes, Ky Son continues to implement phase 2 in 11 border communes.
To prepare for the implementation of the second phase of the construction of 500 houses for the poor and those with housing difficulties in 11 border communes, funded by the Ministry of Public Security, on March 20, 2023, the Steering Committee for Mobilizing and Supporting the Construction and Repair of Houses for the Poor and Those with Housing Difficulties in Ky Son District, 2023-2025 (hereinafter referred to as the Steering Committee) issued a Decision to establish 11 grassroots working groups to assist the Steering Committee in implementing the construction of 500 houses for the poor and those with housing difficulties in border communes, funded by the Ministry of Public Security.

The working groups consist of members of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee and members of the District Party Committee as group leaders. Members include leaders of district-level departments and offices, leaders, officers, and soldiers of border guard posts; and secretaries and chairmen of communes.
Phase 2 involves constructing foundations and assembling 500 houses in 11 border communes, and is expected to be completed by June 30, 2023.

In implementing Directive No. 21-CT/TU, dated February 10, 2023, of the Provincial Party Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership over the work of mobilizing and supporting the construction and repair of houses for the poor and those with housing difficulties, to help poor households in Ky Son have solid houses, the Provincial Police Department has mobilized and supported the construction of 500 houses for poor households and those with housing difficulties in 9 inland communes (phase 1); the Ministry of Public Security has mobilized and supported the construction of 500 houses for poor households and those with housing difficulties in 11 border communes (phase 2) in Ky Son district.
Ky Son is a mountainous border district in the western part of Nghe An province, located 250 km from Vinh city center. It borders four districts in three provinces of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, sharing a border of over 203.409 km. The district has 20 communes and one town (including 11 border communes); it is one of the 74 poorest districts in the country. The poverty rate is high (53.36%), and 1,009 households face housing difficulties (results of a review as of February 30, 2023).
