Strange: Wild gourd variety over 2 meters long

(Baonghean.vn) - These days, the family of Mr. Lu Van Diep, in Canh village, Ta Ca commune, Ky Son district, is welcoming many visitors who come to see and take photos with the "mac tet" fruit trellis in their garden, which has fruits longer than 2 meters.

Mạc tệt, also known as wild gourd, is a traditional crop that has been cultivated for a long time by the Thai ethnic group in the highland districts of Nghe An province.

The fruit of the rambutan tree is cylindrical and elongated, usually about 10 to 15 cm long. However, the rambutan variety that Mr. Lu Van Diep's family grows in their garden produces unusually long fruits, different from the normal size of this species.

According to Mr. Diep, when the fruit first appears, it's no different from the fruit that people usually grow. However, as the fruit matures, it becomes longer and longer. Some fruits even reach 2.2 meters in length.

Mr. Diep said he obtained the seeds for this macadamia nut in Lang Son. This is the first crop he has planted, and Mr. Diep intends to propagate this fruit.

In recent days, many visitors have expressed interest in taking photos with the 2.2-meter-long "mạc tệt" gourd grown by Mr. Diep's family. He said that because many people have shown interest in this unusual gourd variety, he doesn't sell it but only gives it as gifts to friends and regular customers.
