Leading us on a tour of his farm, Mr. Bui Quang Huynh, from Hamlet 1, Thach Son Commune, Anh Son District, Nghe An Province, shared: After graduating from high school, Huynh decided to start his own business right in his hometown. In 2013, when the commune had a policy of leasing land for people to build farms, Huynh discussed with his family and accepted 2 hectares of barren land to transform it into a comprehensive economic model. In early 2016, Mr. Huynh invested in a system of barns to raise pigs for meat. Currently, he raises 100 pigs per batch, 4 batches per year. On average, his annual income from pigs is approximately 1 billion VND. After deducting expenses, he earns a profit of 200-250 million VND. |

| After researching on social media, he realized that the model of raising pigs by playing music for them was highly effective, so he decided to give it a try. Besides investing in a well-ventilated pig pen system, he spent nearly 3 million VND buying a speaker system to play music daily during feed times. According to Mr. Huynh, the music he chose was sentimental music with a moderate volume. This method helps the pigs eat and sleep more, so they grow faster, and are ready for market 10-15 days earlier than pigs raised without music. |

| The pigs also get a refreshing bath every day thanks to a system of water tanks built right in the barn. |

| Besides raising pigs, Mr. Huynh also raises 2,000 laying hens annually. Every day, he supplies thousands of clean eggs to consumers in the area. From raising 2,000 laying hens, after deducting expenses, he earns a profit of over 100 million VND per year. |

| Taking advantage of the natural conditions, he also dug 3 acres of ponds to raise fish. Fish farming also helps him utilize the waste from pig and chicken farming, both improving the environment and providing his family with an additional source of income. Currently, he focuses on raising fish species such as tilapia and catfish. |

| On his 1-hectare plot of land, this farmer in his 30s also focuses on developing fruit trees such as: 250 Thai jackfruit trees, 100 green pomelo trees, and dozens of guava trees. |

| Mr. Bui Quang Huynh also planted taro in his garden on 2 sao (approximately 2,000 square meters), which yields high economic value. |

| Taking advantage of the available space, Mr. Bui Quang Huynh also propagated 1,000 Centella asiatica seedlings to plant under the trees. He anticipates that this source of medicinal plants will provide him with a significant income in the future. Mr. Huynh added: "This diversified farming model, combining crops and livestock, is not only a way to generate short-term income to support long-term growth, but it also helps me earn a considerable income." |
