Driving a car to steal rare orchids.
Ha Van Thang and Pham Quang Hung drove from Vinh Phuc to Thanh Hoa, broke into a garden to steal rare orchids, and took them to another location to sell.
On March 28, Thanh Hoa City Police arrested Thang (34 years old) and Hung (29 years old, both residing in Vinh Phuc province) to investigate their involvement in theft.

Authorities allege that the two unemployed suspects frequently searched online for information about families specializing in growing and selling crops.mutated orchidThen they drove from Vinh Phuc to wait for an opportunity to steal.
Every day, the duo would survey orchid gardens, then use an electric ladder to climb over fences, and use bolt cutters to cut through iron frames and steal rare orchid plants. They would then sell the stolen property in another province.
In mid-March, they broke into the house of Mr. Nguyen (55 years old, residing in Dong Hai ward, Thanh Hoa city) and stole 11 rare Phalaenopsis orchids. According to the victim's statement, the total value of the stolen property was 1.5-1.8 billion VND. After more than a week of investigation, the police tracked down and arrested Thang and Hung, recovering 27 pots of various rare orchids along with other evidence.
The two suspects confessed to committing numerous thefts of rare orchids in Thanh Hoa and Hoa Binh provinces.
Thang and Hung both have two previous convictions for theft.
