Internet abuse leads to neurological problems.
Scientists have found that internet abuse leads to cognitive dysfunction and behavioral problems over the long term.
Are you constantly engrossed in the internet? If so, that's not a good thing. A recent study by scientists from the Etiologically Elusive Disorders Research Network (EEDRN), along with doctors from AIIMS and neurologists in New Delhi, found that internet overuse leads to cognitive dysfunction and behavioral problems over the long term.
After seven months of research, the results were recently published in the international journal Current Psychiatry Reviews.

"Today, people spend so much time online, constantly updating and responding to information. The brain's neural networks, responsible for cognitive function, are constantly stimulated by the sheer volume of information being fed in, creating a response within the brain. As a result, these individuals become vulnerable to neurological dysfunctions," says Dr. Muneeb Faiq, neurologist and author of the AIIMS study.
According to research, internet abuse has the potential to be addictive, and these effects over time can lead to stress-related symptoms such as neurotic disorders.

Experimental analysis of participants explained the typical signs and symptoms. It revealed the affected brain regions and the mechanisms of cognitive dysfunction caused by internet abuse. Agitation, anxiety, and obsession were some of the psychotic symptoms exhibited by the study participants.
Meanwhile, researchers express concern that if this problem transcends geographical boundaries and is ignored, it could spread and become a "disease of human civilization."
