Forged 12 land sale contracts to appropriate more than 8 billion VND
Asked by an acquaintance to buy land, Nguyen Van Hop made 12 fake contracts to defraud the victim of more than 8.2 billion VND.
According to the case file, around March 2022, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh (39 years old, residing in Lan Gioi commune, Tan Yen district, Bac Giang province) came to Dak Lak province to invest in real estate and became acquainted with Nguyen Van Hop (40 years old, residing in Krong Jing commune, M'Drak district, Dak Lak province).

During this time, because he was busy working in Hanoi, Mr. Thanh asked Hop to represent him in finding sources and negotiating with landowners.
However, because he needed money for personal expenses and to pay off debts to many people, Hop had the idea of appropriating Thanh's money.
To carry out the act, Hop prepared 12 fake land purchase and sale deposit contracts of households in Cu Kuin district (Dak Lak) and forged the signatures of the seller and buyer. Then he put his own fingerprints on the signatures.
After completing the fake contract, Hop used his phone to take a photo and sent it to Mr. Thanh via Zalo and asked him to send money to pay the land seller.
Because of trust, from March 22, 2022 to May 31, 2022, Mr. Thanh transferred a total amount of more than 8.2 billion VND to Hop.
Hop used all of this money to pay off debts, interest on bank loans and buy land for himself.
After a period of investigation, on the morning of June 13, the Dak Lak Provincial Police Investigation Agency issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Nguyen Van Hop for 4 months to investigate the act of "fraudulent appropriation of property".
