The Line, Episode 22: A series of Vietnamese officials arrested in the East.
After being rescued, Yuan cooperated with investigators, providing VIP lists and coded evidence, leading to the urgent arrest warrants of many officials and party members.
Episode 22 of the series "The Dividing Line" witnesses a major turning point in the gambling ring investigation when the character Vien, after being rescued, provides crucial information to the investigating authorities. Vien's testimony leads to the urgent arrest of a number of officials and party members in Viet Dong province.

The staged arrest and Viên's cooperation
The episode's plot reveals that Viên's arrest was actually part of a plan he orchestrated in collaboration with the police. Realizing he couldn't escape Việt Đông, Viên proactively contacted Ms. Thu, a trusted leader, to arrange his surrender. In exchange for his own safety, the safety of his family, and the lightest possible sentence, Viên pledged to provide all information about the criminal network.
Viên's plan was to make himself the bait to lure the real boss out. However, the mastermind didn't show up, instead sending his henchmen to act, nearly costing Viên his life. After being successfully rescued, Viên requested a meeting with Mrs. Thu to ensure the agreements were fulfilled. Although Mrs. Thu insisted that the law was non-negotiable, she acknowledged Viên's sincerity as a mitigating circumstance.

Gambling ring and VIP client list exposed.
During the investigation, Vien confessed to his entire role. He was not the boss but merely the operator of the application, managing transactions, recruiting players, and legitimizing the flow of money for the gambling ring with servers located abroad. Players downloaded the application, registered using an ID code, and transacted through an intermediary account.
The most crucial information Viên provided was a database of VIP clients, including many current officials. Viên carefully investigated and stored this list along with encrypted transaction recordings in various locations. After providing the decryption code, the identities of a number of officials from Viet Dong province were revealed, including Nguyen Trung Dung - a member of the City People's Council, and Vu Van Liem - an enforcement officer of the Civil Enforcement Department. Arrest warrants for these individuals were executed immediately afterward.

Decisive directive: "No forbidden zones."
Following reports that many officials and Party members under the Provincial Party Committee's management were involved in the case, Mr. Sach, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, held an urgent meeting that night with the Chairman of the Inspection Committee. Mr. Sach issued decisive directives, demanding a thorough investigation and strict handling of all individuals involved, emphasizing that "there are no forbidden areas, no exceptions for any wrongdoing."
Mr. Sach requested the Inspection Committee to closely monitor developments, coordinate closely with investigative agencies to review personnel management, trace the origin of gambling funds, and recover assets for the State if there are signs of corruption.
A futile attempt to "fix the case"
In another development, Vinh blindly believed Dinh's promises to "fix the case." Despite not having enough money, Vinh gave all his funds to Dinh hoping to escape punishment. However, with the evidence provided by Vien, Vinh's discovery was only a matter of time. Vinh's situation also caused Khac sleepless nights of worry, as he tried to gather information but failed due to the high level of confidentiality surrounding the case.
The next developments in the series will be revealed in episode 23, airing at 9 PM on December 2nd on VTV1.
