The gambling ring case has taken a new turn with Vinh, a high-ranking official slated for promotion, topping the list of those arrested, shocking the provincial Party leadership.
In the latest developments of episode 23 of the series "The Boundary Line," the investigation into the cross-border gambling ring continues to expand, revealing many surprising details. Notably, Vinh, an inspector, has been identified as the top suspect on the list of those recommended for prosecution and arrest.
Provincial Party leaders are shocked by the corruption of planning officials.
The news that Vinh, Khac's cousin, was involved in a gambling ring sent shockwaves through the leadership ranks. When Khac sought Trien's help, the matter reached Deputy Secretary Sach. Sach could not hide his deep anger and disappointment upon learning that an inspector on the list of potential successors had committed serious violations of the law.
"Another inspector… Violating the law and yet they intend to include him in the planning process and appoint him to a management position – it's a disaster, a complete disaster," Mr. Sach expressed his outrage. This incident is not only a criminal case but also a breakdown of trust that the provincial leadership has in the younger generation of officials.
The case is being expanded to investigate additional sources of illicit funds.
At the prosecutor's office, Hong Thu reported to her superiors that the investigative agency had intervened promptly, arresting all individuals involved in the gambling ring and preventing the plot to eliminate Nguyen Van Vien. Currently, Vien is cooperating actively and has revealed seven new names, along with important documents and audio recordings.
In this list, Vinh's name is ranked first. Recognizing the complexity of the case, the head of the Procuratorate requested further investigation into the source of Vinh's money, not ruling out the possibility that it was obtained through embezzlement and misappropriation of corporate assets.
Stress in personal life
Besides the pressures of work, investigator Thu's personal life is also turbulent. After returning home, she continues to face stress from her husband, Chấn. He seems tired of his wife constantly reminding him about his health and work.
"We've been married for so many years, surely you don't disbelieve everything I say anymore?" - Chấn reprimanded his wife, accusing her of adding more pressure on him.
