Both were asked to provide details about the time period from 8 PM on February 14th to 7:30 AM the following morning to verify their alibi.
Viên stated clearly and confidently: “On February 14th, I was still in Da Nang. I only flew here on the morning of the 15th. I still have my plane ticket and hotel check-in.” This statement provides a relatively solid alibi.
However, Vinh's testimony revealed an anomaly. He stated: "The night before, after work, I went to Hai Bich's steak restaurant, ate, and then went straight home. The next morning, I ate fish noodle soup from 6:30 to 7:00 AM before going to work. Therefore, I couldn't have killed Duc."
Vinh's final statement inadvertently revealed a weakness. Prosecutor Thu Huong immediately interrupted him and asked a sharp question: "How did you know Dang Duc was dead?" This detail showed that Vinh knew about the victim's death before the information was widely publicized.

In another development, Hang Thu discovered a document related to her husband, Chan. She directly questioned Thu Huong about why she didn't report it to her immediately. Thu Huong explained, "I wanted to wait for clear verification before reporting. But currently, there is no indication that our husband, Chan, is involved."
At the same time, after Vinh was arrested, the investigating agency worked with Khac. Khac expressed surprise at this information and stated that Vinh had come to his house at 6 am to borrow money. He said, "He called me all night last night, but I absolutely refused to answer."
Suspicious transaction detected
When asked if he knew Vinh was involved in gambling, Khac confidently stated, "If I knew, I would have broken his legs."
However, the investigating agency presented evidence in the form of a series of bank transfer transactions between Khac and Vinh spanning from 2023 to the present. This evidence directly contradicted Khac's testimony, forcing him to examine and explain each transaction individually.
