Hang Thu discovers her husband bought paintings from a deceased suspect, while Khac's career collapses because his subordinates are involved in gambling and extorting money from the company.

In episode 25 of the series "The Dividing Line," Hang Thu (Hong Diem) faces a major shock when she discovers that her husband, Chan (Ha Viet Dung), has an unexpected connection to a suspect in the case she is handling. Upon arriving at her husband's office, she notices a new painting. Chan explains that it's the work of an accountant with a passion for painting, and that he had to "hunt" for it to acquire.
However, the situation became tense when Hang Thu questioned the 50 million dong used to buy the painting and discovered that the seller was Dang Duc, a gambler involved in the case who had passed away. This made her suspect her husband had a "secret stash," as she managed all of Chan's salary.
Cornered, Chấn was forced to admit that he had invested in a convenience store with a friend named Khoa. After liquidating the store and dividing the money, Chấn intended to use it to buy an apartment but encountered legal problems. Having already spent the deposit, he had to accept the painting as payment for the debt. Even so, Chấn's explanation didn't completely convince Hằng Thu.
His career was jeopardized by his subordinates, and Khac lost his position as Director of the Department.
Parallel to the story of Hang Thu and her husband, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Trinh Van Khac (Tien Loc) also faces a career crisis. His close subordinate, Vinh (Anh Duc), is arrested for gambling. The situation becomes more serious when information emerges that Vinh has been using Khac's name to pressure and intimidate businesses.
Following Thieu's (Nguyen Manh Cuong) advice, Khac proactively met with Provincial Party Secretary Tran Son (NSND Trong Trinh) to accept responsibility as the direct manager and decided to withdraw from the list of candidates for the position of Director of the Department of Finance. At the same time, the investigation agency headed by Thang (Bao Anh) also reported signs of abuse of power related to Khac.
Although the Deputy Provincial Party Secretary, Mr. Sach (People's Artist Trung Anh), secretly investigated and determined that Khac was not directly involved in giving money to Vinh for gambling, the final outcome was still unfavorable to him. At the Provincial Party Committee meeting, Mr. Tran Son announced that Le Chinh had been chosen as the new Director of the Department of Finance.
Immediately after hearing the news, Khắc received a cryptic message from Mr. Sách: "Only fools continue to make mistakes. Intelligent people learn from the mistakes of fools." This made Khắc realize everything had slipped out of his grasp, plunging him into disappointment and despair.
