Episode 6 of the political drama "The Dividing Line" escalates conflicts as cracks in power and personal relationships become increasingly apparent. Most notably, Deputy Secretary of the Standing Committee Sach (People's Artist Trung Anh) realizes his position is being undermined after being outmaneuvered in a crucial personnel decision.
Signs of a power struggle within the provincial Party committee.
At the provincial Party committee office, Mr. Sach received a report that Secretary Son had requested the addition of Le Trinh's file to the list of personnel under consideration. This information surprised him, because as the Standing Deputy Secretary, he had not been informed of it beforehand.
"According to the proper procedure, Mr. Thuy, the Provincial Chairman, has already approved it, right? Does that mean I'm the last one to know?", Mr. Sach said to his subordinate. Although his tone remained calm, his question revealed his dissatisfaction and the mindset of someone who felt his authority was being ignored.
Mr. Thuy was wary of Trien.
In another development, the relationship between Mr. Thuy (Meritorious Artist Pham Cuong) and Trien (Manh Truong) also shows complexity. Mr. Thuy understands that Trien is a close confidant of Mr. Sach, the previous leader. Although he shows appreciation for Trien's loyalty, Mr. Thuy still maintains a certain distance and a cautious attitude.
"Loyalty is a valuable virtue, and I appreciate you for that," Mr. Thuy said to Trien. This praise was both an acknowledgment and a subtle reminder of Trien's past relationship, indicating that Mr. Thuy did not completely trust this subordinate.
Turmoil in Thu and Chấn's Marriage
The family storyline also features tense developments when Chấn (Hà Việt Dũng), Thu's (Hồng Diễm) husband, begins to suspect his wife. He feels abandoned when he can't contact Thu all morning, only to discover she's having lunch with her old friend Triển.
"I've been calling you all morning and couldn't reach you. I thought you were busy with work, but it turns out you were busy meeting an old friend?" Chấn questioned his wife in a resentful tone. Although Thu explained that she was busy with a meeting and was unexpectedly invited out for dinner, she forgot to tell him. This incident sowed the seeds of conflict and doubt in their marriage.
New plot details will continue to be revealed in episode 6 of the series "The Dividing Line," airing at 9 PM on November 6th on VTV1.
