The Borderline Episode 7: Dilemma over gambling scandal
In episode 7 of the film The Border, Khac faces the risk of losing his position as Director of the Department of Finance when he is threatened by a subordinate involved in a trillion-dollar gambling ring after refusing to help.
In episode 7 of the movie "The Line", the plot becomes tense when Khac, a promising candidate for the position of Director of the Department of Finance, falls into a difficult situation. He is threatened by Vinh, an inspector under his command, after refusing to cover up gambling in a trillion-dollar ring that is being investigated.
Facing difficult choices
Vinh, an inspector at the Department of Construction, was heavily in debt due to gambling and was facing the risk of being summoned by the police. He sought help from Khac, claiming that Khac owed his family a favor. However, after receiving advice from Trien, Khac decided to refuse help.
Trien clearly analyzed that Vinh, an inspector, being involved in a trillion-dong gambling case would directly affect Khac in his managerial position. "He will be examined for his responsibility in managing cadres... If he can't save it, then don't save it anymore, even stay away from it," Trien frankly advised his friend.
Listening to Trien, Khac made it clear to Vinh that whoever did it would have to pay. Immediately, Vinh turned to threaten: "Now that I'm arrested, no one will be safe... I'm at the end of my rope, I just want to live. You have to save me." This threat pushed Khac into a dilemma, directly affecting his career that was opening up.
Tighten siege on gambling ring
In parallel with Khac's conflict, the investigation into the trillion-dollar gambling ring continued to make important progress. In a meeting with the Deputy Prosecutor, Thu reported the discovery of a low-level account with an unusually high score limit. This raised suspicions about a channel that focused on a special, anonymous group of gamblers.
The leaders of the Procuracy said that it is not impossible that there are also officials and civil servants involved in this network, with the source of money possibly coming from illegal activities such as receiving gifts, running projects or corruption. Thu proposed to continue to coordinate with the investigation agency to verify the identity of this group, and at the same time ask for the opinion of the Internal Affairs Committee to conduct an internal review, especially in sensitive areas such as finance, construction and land.
Unusual signs from real estate projects
In another development, Trien is investigating issues related to the issuance of pink books to people at the Tam Trinh real estate project. The Director of the Land Registration Office said the problem lies with the Committee's leadership when there is no clear written direction.
When reporting this incident to Mr. Sach, Trien also said that the two projects Nam Dong and Dong Phong were also discovered to have many unusual signs. Mr. Sach expressed concern, considered this a "nest of trouble" and asked Trien to report as soon as there were new investigation results.
The hidden private lives of the characters
Besides the complicated cases, episode 7 also reveals more about the personal lives of the characters. Thu, despite being busy, still tries to prepare breakfast for her family and is a bit worried about the pressure of having another child when her in-laws are about to come to live with her. Meanwhile, Trien is surprised when his wife comes from Hanoi to visit and faces the worries of living away from home.
The next developments of the movie "Borderline" will be broadcast at 9pm from Monday to Friday every week on VTV1 channel.
