Spreading the model of 'Peaceful Parish'

Hamlet 4 of Dien Quang commune is a Catholic hamlet with 373 households, belonging to Phi Loc parish. The model of "Peaceful parish" in the hamlet was built by the district police, the commune government and the parish pastoral council in 2016 with operating regulations and specific tasks assigned to members participating in the model.
Accordingly, the Standing Committee of the Commune Steering Committee regularly meets with the Parish Pastoral Council and parishes to exchange information and content related to security and order work. From there, create consensus and coordination in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland, ensuring security and order in the commune and parish. Each parishioner's household signs a commitment to implement 7 criteria for building the model, with 100% of households participating.
Since the model was established, the hamlet has had no crime or social evils. The hamlet has met the standards of “Safe in terms of security and order”, and has been awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Provincial People’s Committee in the new rural construction movement.
Since the establishment of the “peaceful parish” model, the tradition of the hamlet has been strengthened. The people are proud and strive to live a “good life, good religion”, trying to maintain security and order, making the village beautiful, the hamlet beautiful, the homeland beautiful. Thanks to that, life is more peaceful and prosperous.

Therefore, along with propaganda at churches and in hamlets, the Front Working Committee and the Parish Pastoral Council went to families to analyze the harmful effects and repeatedly persuaded the owners of the establishments to voluntarily remove the billiard tables, and the young people also voluntarily handed over their guns.
Village 2 became the first unit of the commune to collect homemade guns and remove the billiard table, contributing to restoring peace to the village.
To keep the parish peaceful, the Village Front Committee and the Parish Executive Committee must intervene in the face of such negative phenomena. Using coercive measures is not very effective, so we have to persuade them to do mass mobilization work in a reasonable and sympathetic way, so they understand that such an unhealthy billiard table business is a violation of the law, and using guns like that is dangerous to society, so the people accept to hand them over.
Yen Thinh parish has only 25 households with 115 people, living in hamlet 6, Dien Lien commune. The parishioners mainly work in agriculture, export labor and construction, per capita income reaches over 40 million VND/year, the number of families achieving cultural titles every year is over 90%. In 2012, hamlet 6 was the first provincial-level cultural village in Dien Chau, the poverty rate is now only 1.1%.In the construction of the new rural areas, people have donated land and invested funds to upgrade 2.2km of roads, expand intra-field traffic, build new cultural houses and playgrounds to improve the material and spiritual life of the people. The model of "peaceful parish without lawbreakers, social evils and joining hands to build the new rural areas" was born with operating regulations, specific assignment of tasks for members to do a good job of self-management, fight against all kinds of crimes and social evils; build a great national solidarity bloc, live a good life, be religious, respect God, love the country; effectively carry out the movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life in residential areas and join hands to build the new rural areas.
The model of "Peaceful Parish" is propagated and integrated in many forms such as through the loudspeaker system, through people's meetings, social security group activities, preaching sessions in churches, in parish activities...

Up to now, Dien Chau has established 6 peaceful parish models in Dien Lien, Dien Quang, Dien Hanh, Dien My, Dien Doai, Dien Ky. From the model, members have directly mediated over 50 conflict cases such as intentional injury, land and environmental disputes, causing disorder in villages... In addition, the masses have provided the police and functional agencies with over 100 valuable sources of information on security and order, helping the police force promptly investigate and handle dozens of cases related to security and order, traffic safety...
