Neighbors teamed up to run a lottery and football betting ring.
(Baonghean.vn) - The Yen Thanh District Police have just prosecuted 7 defendants for gambling in the form of lottery and online football betting. The ringleaders of this operation are two neighbors.
Earlier, in early October 2021, through investigative work, the Yen Thanh District Police discovered a group of individuals regularly organizing gambling in the form of lottery and number betting.online football bettingThis affects the security and public order situation in the area.
In order to stop the criminal activities of the group, the Yen Thanh District Police established a special task force to combat and dismantle the operation. During the surveillance process, the suspects frequently changed their operating locations and used various forms of communication to evade detection by the police. However, all movements of the suspects were closely monitored by the task force.

At approximately 6 PM on October 22, 2021, using professional investigative methods, the task force caught four individuals red-handed engaging in gambling activities in the form of lottery number betting and football betting; four mobile phones were seized.
The suspects include: Bui Thi Huyen Trang (born in 1984), To Van Cuong (born in 1991), Ha Thi Suong (born in 1998), all residing in Hoa Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district; and Phan Duc Trinh (born in 1994), residing in Van Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district.
The police have identified Bui Thi Huyen Trang and To Van Cuong, both residing in Tan Quang hamlet, Hoa Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, as the ringleaders.

During the expanded investigation of the case, the Yen Thanh District Police arrested three more individuals: Cao Van Son (born in 1979), Ho Dinh Tam (born in 2000), both residing in Hoa Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, and Nguyen Thi Duong (born in 1981), residing in Dien Thai commune, Dien Chau district, for gambling in the form of football betting via the Zalo social network; three mobile phones were seized.
During the investigation, by November 4, 2021, the special task force clarified that the amount of money the group of suspects involved in gambling was over 1.1 billion VND.
Currently, the Yen Thanh District Police are continuing to expand the investigation.
