After days of campaigning and persuasion, the owner of the illegally constructed mausoleum, spanning over 190 square meters on land designated for perennial crops in Dong Loc commune (Nghe An province), voluntarily dismantled the structure. This is the last of the three illegally constructed mausoleums on agricultural land that Nghe An Newspaper and Radio and Television had previously reported on.

On the morning of August 10th, leaders of Dong Loc commune People's Committee announced that, after many days of local efforts to raise awareness and persuade the owner of the illegally constructed tomb on land designated for perennial crops, the owner had voluntarily dismantled the structure.

This mausoleum complex covers an area of over 190 square meters, with a frontage of approximately 9.5 meters and a length of 20 meters. The structure is quite massive, and the entire grounds are surrounded by a blue stone wall. Notably, within this vast area, there is only one tomb that has recently been relocated.

This was the last of the three illegally constructed tombs, built on land designated for perennial crops and managed by the Dong Loc Commune People's Committee in Vinh Trinh hamlet, to be dismantled by the owner himself.

Earlier, in mid-July, Nghe An's newspapers and radio and television stations reported on the matter.Numerous mausoleums, some spanning hundreds of square meters, have unexpectedly "sprung up" in the middle of land previously used for perennial tree cultivation.Located in the border area between Dong Loc commune and Cua Lo ward, the site includes a structure approximately 190m² in size; another structure with a surrounding foundation covering an area of about 336m²; and a mausoleum covering nearly 120m².

Following the complaints, the People's Committee of Dong Loc commune conducted an inspection and verification, identifying the owners of all three structures. The local authorities also established an inter-agency task force, completed the necessary documentation, and developed a plan for handling the situation; this included requiring the owners to voluntarily dismantle the structures and restore the land to its original state. Failure to comply would result in forced demolition according to regulations.

By July 24th, the owners of the tombs at locations 2 and 3 had voluntarily dismantled their structures, restoring the land to its original state under the supervision of the inter-agency task force. At that time, the structure covering more than 190m² was the only remaining case that had not yet been dismantled.

With the last owner voluntarily dismantling the structures on August 10th, all three illegally constructed tombs on land designated for perennial crops in this area have been dealt with through voluntary dismantling and restoration of the original state.

According to the People's Committee of Dong Loc commune, the handling of the case aims to restore order in land management and construction, while preventing the recurrence of unauthorized construction of mausoleum grounds and misuse of land.

Previously, at a meeting on July 20th, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Loc commune requested relevant departments and units to decisively handle all violations, while strengthening inspection and management of land and construction order in the area. Local authorities also identified that the fact that the violating areas are located in border regions, far from residential areas, obscured by trees, and difficult to access is one of the reasons why illegal constructions are difficult to detect in a timely manner.
