Nghi Duc wine-making village has been recognized as a traditional craft village.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 20th, Xuan Trung hamlet, Nghi Duc commune (Vinh City) held a ceremony to receive the certificate recognizing it as a traditional glutinous rice wine making village.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from the Department of Industry and Trade, the Provincial Cooperative Union, and the Vinh City People's Committee.
The traditional rice wine-making craft in Xuan Trung hamlet, Nghi Duc commune, has a long history. Since 2011, based on the encouragement and support policies of the province and city, the commune has encouraged residents to revive the traditional craft.
To date, 115 out of 212 households in the hamlet are engaged in the traditional craft of brewing rượu (rice wine). At the end of 2016, the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision recognizing Xuân Trung hamlet as a village with a traditional rượu brewing craft. Currently, along with improving quality and ensuring food safety and hygiene, some households have initially registered trademarks and developed brands to expand their market. Besides creating jobs for approximately 120 workers and generating nearly 10 billion VND in revenue annually, the traditional rượu brewing craft also contributes significantly to the development of livestock farming in the hamlet and the commune.

Speaking at the ceremony to receive the Certificate of Recognition for the Traditional Craft Village, a representative of the Nghi Duc Commune People's Committee suggested that, along with investing in improving production capacity, households must continuously improve quality and strictly adhere to regulations on food hygiene and safety in wine production.

On the occasion of receiving the Certificate of MeritUpon receiving the recognition of the craft village, the People's Committee of Nghi Duc commune also awarded Certificates of Commendation to collectives with outstanding achievements in building and developing the craft village.
