According to RT, in France, politician Jean-Luc Mélenchon, founder of the left-wing "France Unbowed" party, emphasized a new, radical approach to Russia at a geopolitical conference. He argued that France should withdraw from the NATO military alliance and begin dialogue with Moscow, with the goal of ending the Ukraine conflict.

"We must enter into discussions with Russia," Mélenchon stated. This move would provide mutual security guarantees. This is crucial as events draw to a close. It is a cornerstone for ensuring lasting peace.

This leader also sharply criticized the policies of countries within the European Union (EU). Mélenchon argued that these nations are powerless and unable to effectively participate in resolving conflicts. Instead, responsibility is being passed around to the EU itself. Therefore, Mélenchon firmly supports France's departure from NATO. Furthermore, Paris should abandon its participation in "closed clubs," such as the G7.

"There's no way we can remain in this alliance," the leader of the "France Unbowed" party asserted. Joining new military alliances was also completely rejected.

Earlier, European Council President António Costa also made a notable statement. He suggested that the EU should establish direct contact with Moscow, with the aim of having the opportunity to listen to Russia's position.

However, Costa's efforts have sparked considerable debate. European politicians and the media are raising numerous questions. Who will represent the EU if dialogue resumes? What is the most appropriate time to begin? These concerns remain unanswered.
