SLNA leaders: "We are sad but happy for Trong Hoang."

“As everyone knows, this year Bac A Bank continues to sponsor SLNA for another year with an amount of 30 billion VND. Previously, SLNA sought several investors hoping to sign longer contracts. Therefore, SLNA proactively called for some players to return. And during the negotiation process, the SLNA coaching staff proposed retaining Que Ngoc Hai, recalling players like Hoang Thinh, Trong Hoang… as well as looking for higher-level foreign players.”

Everyone believed that a new sponsorship package would help SLNA sign the aforementioned players, changing their objectives in the V.League. Therefore, coach Duc Thang borrowed nearly 1 billion VND to release Trong Hoang from his contract with Thanh Hoa. However, the sponsorship deal did not go as planned. This forced us to urgently revise our plan to suit our financial resources,” said SLNA CEO Ho Van Chiem.

Mr. Chiêm further shared: “We regret missing the opportunity with Trọng Hoàng, as he wanted to sign a 3-year contract with SLNA and end his career in his hometown. The team could not fulfill this wish because SLNA currently only has one sponsorship package worth 30 billion VND.”

We only dared to offer Trong Hoang a one-year contract, without mentioning salary or signing bonus. Trong Hoang asked to discuss it with his family before making a decision. It can be said that SLNA missed out on Trong Hoang due to sponsorship issues; at the crucial moment, everything could only be decided within a one-year timeframe.

We instructed Trong Hoang that if he agreed, we would find a way to arrange things and seek the opinion of the company's Board of Directors. After that, if SLNA finds a new sponsor, we will continue to renew the contract.

"Trong Hoang's decision to join Viettel is normal, it's his right, and although we regret it, we are also very happy for him."
