SLNA leaders: "We are sorry but happy for Trong Hoang"

“As everyone knows, this year, Bac A Bank continues to sponsor SLNA for another year with an amount of 30 billion VND. Before that, SLNA was looking for some investors with the hope of signing a longer contract. Therefore, SLNA proactively called on some players to return. And during the negotiation process, SLNA's coaching board proposed to keep Que Ngoc Hai, call back players like Hoang Thinh, Trong Hoang... as well as find foreign players with higher qualifications.

Everyone believed that a new sponsorship package would help SLNA sign contracts with the above players, changing the target in V.League. Therefore, coach Duc Thang borrowed nearly 1 billion VND to release Trong Hoang's contract with Thanh Hoa. However, the sponsorship issue was not as successful as expected. This forced us to urgently change the plan to suit the financial resources", SLNA CEO - Mr. Ho Van Chiem informed.

Mr. Chiem added: “We are very sorry for missing the appointment with Trong Hoang, because he wanted to sign a 3-year contract with SLNA and end his career in his hometown. The team cannot fulfill this wish because SLNA currently only has a 30 billion sponsorship package.

We only dared to discuss with Trong Hoang a 1-year contract, without mentioning salary or bonuses. Trong Hoang asked to discuss with his family and then make a decision. It can be said that SLNA missed the appointment with Trong Hoang because of the sponsorship story, at the decisive moment, everything could only be wrapped up in 1 year.

We told Trong Hoang that if he agreed, we would find a way to handle it and ask for the company's Board of Directors' opinion. After that, SLNA would find a new sponsor and continue to extend the contract.

"Trong Hoang's decision to return to Viettel is normal, it is Hoang's right. Although we feel sorry, we are also very happy for him."
