Provincial leaders meet with overseas Vietnamese from Nghe An province at the beginning of the Lunar New Year 2025 (Year of the Snake).

In the warm and joyful atmosphere of the early days of the new year 2025, on the afternoon of February 7th, Nghe An province organized the Nghe An Overseas Vietnamese Meeting - Spring of the Year of the Snake 2025.

Attending the program were: Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee;Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; leaders of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, representatives of leaders of departments, agencies, mass organizations, and business associations in the province.

Also attending were Ms. Dang Thi Thu Ha - Director of the Department of Economy, Science and Technology - State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; andnearly 200Overseas Vietnamese include leaders of Nghe An and Nghe Tinh hometown associations abroad, exemplary overseas Vietnamese, and overseas Vietnamese who have made significant contributions to the development of their home province.

The Nghệ An Overseas Vietnamese Reunion Program - Spring 2025 is a practical activity aimed at strengthening the bond between Nghệ An province and Nghệ An people living abroad; at the same time, it encourages overseas Vietnamese to remember their roots, rekindle national pride, and contribute to building their homeland and country.

Through this program, Nghe An province hopes to introduce to overseas Vietnamese the outstanding socio-economic achievements, Vietnam's policies, and the province's policies towards Nghe An people living abroad, as well as the province's investment incentives.

According to incomplete statistics, Nghe An currently has approximately 80,000 people living, studying, and working in 110 countries and territories around the world.

Despite living far from their homeland, overseas Vietnamese from Nghe An province, driven by their love for their country, always nurture and promote patriotism and national pride, preserve cultural traditions, and remain connected to their roots, families, hometowns, and nation.

Speaking at the program, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province Le Hong Vinh emphasized that the Party and State always consider the Vietnamese community abroad as an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation; always value and highly appreciate the contributions of overseas Vietnamese to their homeland, and always wish for them to have a stable and increasingly prosperous life, preserve their national cultural identity, and actively integrate into the communities in their host countries.

Informing overseas Vietnamese about the province's outstanding achievements in 2024, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that these results not only reflect comprehensive efforts but also open up many great expectations. Nghe An is striving to make breakthroughs, aiming to become the leading economic engine of the North Central region.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the Party Committee, the Government, and the people of Nghe An province always cherish and deeply appreciate the sincere feelings and valuable contributions of overseas Vietnamese over the years.

The overseas community of people from Nghe An is expanding and diversifying, having risen to affirm its role, position, and prestige within the Vietnamese community abroad; becoming a satellite, a bridge, and an important resource, making positive contributions to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.

The Nghe An community abroad is an important factor in people-to-people diplomacy, actively preserving and spreading national cultural values, building the image of Nghe An province overseas, and is recognized and highly appreciated by host countries as well as embassies in Vietnam.

In addition, many overseas Nghe An people have learned and accumulated valuable knowledge and experience, which they return to contribute to the development of their homeland.

Overseas Vietnamese have also been providing significant resources for cultural projects, rural development, and participating in many meaningful social and charitable activities.

Every year, the large amount of remittances sent to the province has made a significant contribution to promoting production, business, socio-economic development, and improving the lives of the people in the province.

Continuing to uphold the spirit of Nghe An province, offering suggestions and contributing to the building and development of our homeland.

Affirming that people from Nghe An living abroad are a tremendous, important, and indispensable resource for the province's development, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that all overseas Nghe An compatriots, including experts, intellectuals, scientists, entrepreneurs, investors, students, and workers, regardless of their circumstances, will always uphold the Vietnamese spirit and the character of Nghe An to continue contributing ideas and helping to build and develop their homeland.

At the same time, we will strongly promote the role of Nghe An as a bridge to showcase its potential and investment opportunities, bring Nghe An culture to the world, while preserving Vietnamese culture, speaking Vietnamese with the Nghe An accent, and being proud of our origins and the fine traditional values ​​of the nation.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh affirmed that, in the coming time, Nghe An will continue to focus on attracting and training high-quality human resources; mobilizing businesses, experts, intellectuals, scientists, and overseas Vietnamese investors to invest and contribute ideas to the province in many different fields to meet the practical needs of the country and the trend of international integration.

At the same time, the province will strive to further promote the work with Vietnamese people abroad for a united, strong, and developing Nghe An community overseas, working together to build and develop the homeland into an increasingly prosperous and happy place.

At the meeting, overseas Vietnamese from Nghe An expressed their gratitude for the attention they received from the provincial leaders; they were delighted to witness the province's continuous development and expressed their belief that Nghe An will be a bright spot in the overall development picture of Vietnam.

Overseas Vietnamese expressed their pride in being citizens of Vietnam and their homeland, Nghe An, and their determination to continue to abide by the law; to live, work, and study well; and to promote the image of Vietnam and its people in general, and Nghe An in particular, in their host countries.

In particular, overseas Vietnamese affirmed that they will always turn their attention to their beloved homeland of Nghe An with practical and effective actions.

With a spirit of "mutual support and compassion," overseas Vietnamese from Nghe An always wholeheartedly turn their hearts towards their homeland with many noble gestures. At the program, the Nghe Tinh Hometown Association in the Czech Republic, Poland, and Hungary donated 50 million VND to the SOS Children's Village Vinh.

To acknowledge the contributions and commend the achievements of overseas Vietnamese organizations in the socio-economic development of Nghe An province, and to encourage overseas Vietnamese to turn towards their roots and invest in building their homeland, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province has decided to award Certificates of Commendation to 6 overseas Vietnamese associations/organizations.
