Provincial leaders meet with overseas Vietnamese in Nghe An on the occasion of the beginning of Spring At Ty 2025

In the warm and joyful atmosphere of the first days of the new year 2025, on the afternoon of February 7, Nghe An province organized the program to meet overseas Vietnamese in Nghe An - Spring At Ty 2025.

Also attending were Ms. Dang Thi Thu Ha - Director of the Department of Economics, Science and Technology - State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; andnearly 200Overseas Vietnamese are leaders of Nghe An and Nghe Tinh Associations abroad, outstanding overseas Vietnamese, overseas Vietnamese who have made many contributions to the development of their home province.

The program of meeting overseas Vietnamese in Nghe An - Spring At Ty 2025 is a practical activity to strengthen the relationship between Nghe An province and Nghe An people abroad; at the same time, encourage and motivate overseas Vietnamese to return to their roots, arouse the spirit of national pride to contribute to building their homeland and country.

Through the program, Nghe An province hopes to introduce to overseas Vietnamese outstanding socio-economic achievements, policies of Vietnam and the province towards Nghe An people abroad, as well as preferential investment policies of the province.

According to incomplete statistics, Nghe An currently has about 80,000 people living, studying and working in 110 countries and territories around the world.

Although living far from the homeland, with love for their homeland, overseas Vietnamese in Nghe An always nurture and promote patriotism, national pride, preserve cultural traditions and look back to their roots, attached to their family, homeland and country.

Speaking at the program, Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh emphasized that the Party and State always consider the overseas Vietnamese community an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation; always respect and appreciate the contributions of overseas Vietnamese to the homeland, always wish for them to have a stable life, increasingly develop, preserve the national cultural identity, and actively integrate into the community in the host country.

Informing overseas Vietnamese about the province's outstanding results in 2024, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the above results not only reflect comprehensive efforts but also open up many great expectations. Nghe An is striving to make a breakthrough, aiming for the role of an economic locomotive in the North Central region.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that the Party Committee, Government and People of Nghe An province always respect and deeply acknowledge the sincere feelings and valuable contributions of overseas Vietnamese over the past years.

The Nghe An community abroad is increasingly expanding and diversifying, affirming its role, position and prestige in the overseas Vietnamese community; becoming an important satellite, bridge and resource, actively contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The Nghe An community abroad is an important factor in people's diplomacy, actively preserving and spreading national cultural values, building the image of Nghe An province abroad, which is recognized and highly appreciated by host countries as well as the Embassy in Vietnam.

Besides, many Nghe An people when going abroad have learned and accumulated valuable knowledge and experience to return and contribute to the development of their homeland.

Overseas Vietnamese have also been providing huge resources for cultural projects, new rural construction, as well as participating in many meaningful social and charitable activities.

Every year, the large amount of remittances sent to the province has contributed significantly to promoting production, business, socio-economic development and improving the lives of people in the province.

At the meeting, overseas Vietnamese in Nghe An expressed their emotion at the attention of the provincial leaders; were happy to witness the province's continuous development and believed that Nghe An would be a bright spot in the overall development picture of Vietnam.

Overseas Vietnamese people clearly expressed their pride in being Vietnamese citizens, their homeland Nghe An, and expressed their determination to continue to strictly follow the law; live, work, study well and promote the image of the country, Vietnamese people in general and Nghe An in particular in the host country.

With the spirit of "mutual love", overseas Vietnamese in Nghe An always turn to their homeland with many noble gestures. At the program, the Nghe Tinh Association in the Czech Republic - Poland - Hungary donated 50 million VND to SOS Children's Village Vinh.

To recognize the contributions and achievements of overseas Vietnamese groups in the socio-economic development of Nghe An province, and to promptly encourage overseas Vietnamese to return to their roots and invest in building their homeland, the Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee decided to award Certificates of Merit to 6 overseas Vietnamese Associations/Unions.
