Provincial leaders held a meeting with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
(Baonghean.vn) - On December 7th, the Provincial People's Committee held a working session with JICA - Japan in Vietnam regarding the implementation of the project "Deployment and practical verification of the regional health information network system".
Comrade Hoang Viet Duong – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee – chaired the meeting.
The project "Implementation and Practical Verification of a Regional Health Information Network System," aimed at improving healthcare quality in Vietnam, was launched in Nghe An province in November 2013. The project was carried out by Techno Project of Japan and Link Global.

After two years of implementation, the project has established an interconnected health information network from the Department of Health to hospitals, health centers, and commune/ward health stations. Specifically, the project has equipped servers and LAN network equipment for the following hospitals: Vinh Transport Hospital, Traditional Medicine Hospital, and Thai An Hospital; and provided laptops to 25 health stations and wards in Vinh City.

The project also implemented the following software: Mame-Net for exchanging information related to health and medical issues, and patient information across the entire system of health stations in Vinh City; and Cyber Medisoft software for hospital management at Vinh Transport Hospital, Traditional Medicine Hospital, Thai An Hospital, and 8 health stations in the city.
The project also supports healthcare units in training medical staff to deploy application software and manage information networks and exchange information effectively between healthcare facilities. The objective of the second phase of the project (implemented from January 2015 to September 2016) is to expand the application of healthcare software to 25 wards and communes in Vinh City.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Hoang Viet Duong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, highly appreciated the effectiveness of the project "Implementation and practical verification of the regional health information network system" in applying IT and improving management efficiency; contributing to gradually improving the quality of medical examination and treatment in the health system of Vinh City in recent times.
At the same time, we hope that JICA will continue to support the expansion of the application of healthcare management software in all wards and communes of the city; in order to further improve the quality of healthcare and the efficiency of health insurance payments in healthcare facilities in the area in the future.
