Nghe An provincial leaders and key officials support people in the West to overcome flood consequences

On the morning of July 26, Nghe An Provincial Party Committee launched a campaign to support people in the Western communes to overcome the consequences of flooding caused by storm No. 3 and its circulation.

Due to the impact of storm No. 03 (Wipha) and the storm's circulation, in recent days, Nghe An province has suffered an unprecedented flood in history, causing extremely serious damage over a large area, severely affecting people's lives, property and property.

According to the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and the Civil Affairs Department of Nghe An province, as of 6:00 p.m. on July 25, 2025, in Nghe An province, there were 15 communes completely and partially isolated with 132 villages and hamlets and 11,817 households with a total of 58,618 people.

Of the 15 isolated communes, 3 communes with 56 villages and 4,958 households with 23,674 people were completely isolated, including Huu Kiem commune (22 villages), Nhon Mai (19 villages), and Muong Tip (15 villages).

There are 12 partially isolated communes with a total of 76 villages and hamlets and 6,859 with 34,944 people, including: Muong Xen 14 villages, Chieu Luu 10 villages, Na Loi 5 villages, My Ly 10 villages, Bac Ly 8 villages, Keng Du 10 villages, Tuong Duong 4 villages, Luong Minh 6 villages, Yen Hoa 2 villages, Huu Khuong 4 villages, Nga My 1 village, Anh Son Dong 1 village.

To date, the province has recorded 4 deaths, 1 missing person and 4 others injured. As of July 26, 3 communes and hundreds of villages and hamlets are still isolated and cut off by floodwaters.

Housing damage: 304 houses collapsed and were completely washed away in the communes of Muong Xen, Tuong Duong, Tam Quang, Con Cuong, Muong Tip, Huu Khuong, My Ly; 4,818 houses in the communes throughout the province.damaged, property washed away, damaged after the flood receded; 24 schools and 6 medical centers were flooded and damaged.

Regarding agriculture and forestry, nearly 3,540 hectares of rice, more than 3,000 hectares of vegetables, nearly 7,400 hectares of perennial and annual crops, and more than 64 hectares of concentrated fruit trees were damaged; 930 hectares of forest were broken. The total number of livestock swept away and killed was more than 1,000; nearly 40,000 poultry; more than 540 hectares of pond area and 239 aquaculture cages were damaged.

Regarding traffic, there were 99 landslide points on National Highway 48 and provincial roads; 25 bridges and culverts were washed away or damaged; 298 landslide points and 105 roads were cut off... The irrigation system was also severely affected.

There were 110 landslides and traffic jams on the roads, 9 flooded points; 104 local traffic disruption points. The floods also damaged 2,020 m of canals and many production water systems; 4,950 m of domestic water pipes; clean water systems were damaged in many places; hundreds of electric poles were broken...

Currently, the lives of people in communes affected by natural disasters are very difficult, and they need people to share and help. In order for people to soon stabilize their lives, the Party Committee, government and functional forces of Nghe An province are making efforts to overcome the consequences of floods, open and repair roads, ensure communication, support food, drinking water, medicine, etc.

Responding to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, promoting the spirit of solidarity "mutual love, mutual assistance", "the rich help the poor" of the nation, the provincial leaders and key officials at the provincial level donated, supported, and shared the losses and damages of the people in the West to overcome the consequences of storms and floods, and soon stabilize their lives.
