Leaders of Nghe An province and key officials support people in the western region in overcoming the consequences of floods.
On the morning of July 26th, the Nghe An Provincial Party Committee launched a campaign to support people in the western communes in overcoming the consequences of flooding caused by Typhoon No. 3 and its remnants.
Attending the program were: Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Comrade Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; along with representatives from the Central Party Committees in charge of Nghe An, members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, and key provincial officials.

Due to the impact of Typhoon No. 03 (Wipha) and its aftermath, Nghe An province has suffered an unprecedented flood in recent days, causing extremely serious damage over a wide area, severely affecting people, property, and the lives of the people.
According to the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and the Civil Affairs Department of Nghe An province, as of 6 PM on July 25, 2025, 15 communes in Nghe An province were completely or partially isolated, affecting 132 villages and hamlets, and 11,817 households with a total of 58,618 people.
Of the 15 isolated communes, 3 communes with 56 villages and 4,958 households with 23,674 people are completely isolated, including Huu Kiem commune (22 villages), Nhon Mai commune (19 villages), and Muong Tip commune (15 villages).
Twelve communes are partially isolated, comprising a total of 76 villages and hamlets with 6,859 inhabitants and 34,944 people. These include: Muong Xen (14 hamlets), Chieu Luu (10 hamlets), Na Loi (5 hamlets), My Ly (10 hamlets), Bac Ly (8 hamlets), Keng Du (10 hamlets), Tuong Duong (4 hamlets), Luong Minh (6 hamlets), Yen Hoa (2 hamlets), Huu Khuong (4 hamlets), Nga My (1 hamlet), and Anh Son Dong (1 hamlet).
To date, the province has recorded 4 deaths, 1 missing person, and 4 injured. As of July 26th, 3 communes and hundreds of villages and hamlets remain isolated and cut off due to flooding.


Damage to housing: 304 houses were completely destroyed or swept away in the communes of Muong Xen, Tuong Duong, Tam Quang, Con Cuong, Muong Tip, Huu Khuong, and My Ly; 4,818 houses were damaged in communes throughout the province.Property was damaged or swept away after the floodwaters receded; 24 schools and 6 health centers were flooded and damaged.
In agriculture and forestry, nearly 3,540 hectares of rice paddies, over 3,000 hectares of vegetable crops, nearly 7,400 hectares of perennial and annual crops, and over 64 hectares of concentrated fruit orchards were damaged; 930 hectares of forest were felled. The total number of livestock swept away or killed was over 1,000; nearly 40,000 poultry; and over 540 hectares of ponds and 239 aquaculture cages were damaged.
Regarding transportation, there were 99 landslides along National Highway 48 and provincial roads; 25 bridges and culverts were washed away or damaged; there were 298 landslides along the roads and 105 points where roads were cut off… The irrigation system was also severely affected.

There were 110 points on the roads affected by landslides and traffic congestion, 9 points flooded; and 104 points where local traffic was cut off. The floods also damaged 2,020 meters of canals and many agricultural water supply systems; 4,950 meters of domestic water pipes were damaged; the clean water system was damaged in many places; and hundreds of power poles were broken and collapsed...

Currently, the lives of people in the disaster-stricken areas are very difficult, and they need compassion and assistance. To help people stabilize their lives as soon as possible, the Party committee, government, and functional forces of Nghe An province are making efforts to overcome the consequences of the floods, open and repair roads, ensure communication, and provide food, water, medicine, etc.
Responding to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, and upholding the national spirit of solidarity, mutual support, and helping those in need, the provincial leaders and key officials have donated and shared in the losses and damages suffered by people in the Mekong Delta to overcome the consequences of the storms and floods and quickly stabilize their lives.

After more than two days of appeals, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province has received over 38.5 billion VND in donations from localities, units, businesses, philanthropists, and organizations inside and outside the province to support the people in the western part of Nghe An province.
