Six new pumping stations have been installed in Thanh Chuong district to serve irrigation for the spring rice crop.

Given the serious deterioration of the pumping station system along the Lam River in Thanh Chuong district, the Irrigation Department is actively installing 6 new pumping stations to promptly serve the irrigation needs for the spring rice crop.

From the beginning of October 2024 until now, Thanh Chuong district has been installing 6 new pumping stations worth 9.2 billion VND in the communes of Dai Dong, Ngoc Son, Dong Van, and Cat Van. Mr. Tran Phi Hung, Head of the Agriculture and Rural Development Department of Thanh Chuong district, said: The investment in installing 6 new pumping stations along the Lam River will contribute to ensuring water supply right from the beginning of the irrigation season for over 3,000 hectares of spring rice in the district. Currently, the entire district still has over 20 pumping stations managed by communes, built from the 1980s to the present, which are seriously dilapidated and urgently need investment for upgrading.
