'Flip Side 7' breaks 'Flip Side 6's' record, revenue is only behind 3 Tran Thanh films
Up to now, the movie "Lat mat 7" has broken the record of "Lat mat 6", when the movie reached the milestone of 287 billion VND. Currently, the movie is in the top 4 Vietnamese projects with the highest revenue of all time after 3 movies of Tran Thanh.
As of noon on May 6, Ly Hai's film "Lat mat 7" officially broke the record of "Lat mat 6", becoming the highest-grossing film in the series, and also becoming the 4th highest-grossing Vietnamese film of all time after Tran Thanh's films "Mai", "Nha Ba Nu", and "Bo Gia".
According to Box Office Vietnam, as of noon on May 6, the film's revenue reached 287 billion VND (continued to increase because the project is still showing in theaters). With such revenue momentum, many film experts in Ho Chi Minh City predict that Ly Hai's work is likely to reach about 400 billion VND before leaving theaters.
Also according to figures from the independent revenue statistics unit Box Office Vietnam, "Lat mat 7" currently has the highest number of screenings at the Vietnamese box office with more than 4,300 screenings. Each day, the film earns tens of billions of VND in revenue.
"Flip Side 7: A Wish" had early screenings from the evening of April 24 before officially opening in theaters on April 26. Previously, the film also surpassed the 100 billion VND revenue mark on April 29, after 3 days in theaters. "Flip Side 7" quickly surpassed the 2 million ticket sales mark after only 5 days.
In part 7 of the "Flip Side" movie series, Ly Hai exploited the theme of family psychology instead of the familiar action theme of the "Flip Side" series.
The film revolves around the life of Mrs. Hai (artist Thanh Hien), a single mother raising 5 children. When Mrs. Hai was old and weak, she had an accident, her children all had their own families and lived far away, making it difficult for them to take care of their mother.
The actors participating in the movie "Flip Side 7" include: Artist Manh Dung, Thanh Hien, Quach Ngoc Tuyen, Truong Minh Cuong, Tiet Cuong, Tran Kim Hai, Thanh Thuc, child actress Ngan Chi... and many young faces of the entertainment industry.
Compared to previous films, Ly Hai and his wife Minh Ha invested heavily in many billion-dollar sets. The film was filmed in many locations, including many large sets in Lam Dong and Ninh Thuan.
