'Face Off 7' breaks 'Face Off 6' record, ranking only behind three films starring Tran Thanh.
To date, "Face Off 7" has broken the record of "Face Off 6," reaching 287 billion VND. Currently, the film is in the top 4 highest-grossing Vietnamese projects of all time, after three films starring Tran Thanh.
As of noon on May 6th, Ly Hai's film "Lat Mat 7" officially broke the record of "Lat Mat 6," becoming the highest-grossing film in the series, and also becoming the 4th highest-grossing Vietnamese film of all time in theaters, after "Mai," "Nha Ba Nu," and Tran Thanh's "Bo Gia."
According to Box Office Vietnam, as of noon on May 6th, the film's revenue reached 287 billion VND (and continues to increase as the project is still showing in theaters). With this revenue momentum, many film experts in Ho Chi Minh City predict that Ly Hai's work is highly likely to reach around 400 billion VND before leaving theaters.
According to data from the independent box office unit Box Office Vietnam, "Face Off 7" currently has the highest number of screenings at Vietnamese theaters with over 4,300 screenings. Each day, the film earns tens of billions of VND in revenue.
"Face Off 7: One Wish" had early screenings from the evening of April 24th before its official release on April 26th. Prior to that, the film surpassed 100 billion VND in revenue on April 29th, just three days after its release. "Face Off 7" quickly surpassed 2 million tickets sold in just five days.
In the seventh installment of the "Lật Mặt" (Face Off) film franchise, Lý Hải explores the theme of family psychology instead of the familiar action genre of the "Lật Mặt" brand.
The film revolves around the life of Mrs. Hai (actress Thanh Hien), a single mother raising five children. When Mrs. Hai grows old and frail and faces misfortune, her children all have their own families and live far away, making it difficult for them to care for their mother.
The cast of the film "Lật mặt 7" includes: Artists Mạnh Dung, Thanh Hiền, Quách Ngọc Tuyên, Trương Minh Cường, Tiết Cương, Trần Kim Hải, Thanh Thức, child actress Ngân Chi... along with many young faces from the entertainment industry.
Compared to previous installments, Ly Hai and his wife Minh Ha invested heavily in numerous high-end locations. Filming took place across many localities, including several large-scale settings in Lam Dong and Ninh Thuan provinces.
