Pentagon points to problems with military support for Ukraine
The Pentagon acknowledged that military assistance to Ukraine has exposed a series of problems in the US military-industrial complex, including difficulties in maintaining, restoring and enhancing the arsenal for the needs of the US Army, threatening Washington's own combat readiness.
“US material assistance to Ukraine has highlighted the challenges of maintaining, restoring, and increasing production of US ammunition stockpiles,” the Department of Defense said in a published report.

The Pentagon stressed that the inability to maintain and increase the arsenal would jeopardize the operational capability and combat readiness of US forces. The US Department of Defense affirmed: "The Department requires increased capacity to ensure the production of sufficient new and improved ammunition."
To eliminate these problems, the United States launched a program to modernize its military arsenals in hopes of significantly increasing future military resources and their effectiveness.
At the same time, the Pentagon has established a special team to accelerate the production of weapons. The unit's responsibilities include identifying, analyzing and eliminating challenges related to increasing the production of ammunition and components together with Washington's allies and partners./.
