Ceremony announcing that Tay Hieu commune (Thai Hoa town) has achieved advanced new rural standards.
On November 21st, the People's Committee of Tay Hieu commune, Thai Hoa town, held a ceremony to announce the Decision of the People's Committee of Nghe An province recognizing Tay Hieu commune as having achieved advanced new rural standards in 2023.
To date, implementing the new rural development program and the advanced new rural development program, Tay Hieu commune has invested over 14 billion VND in building welfare facilities. Besides support from the central government, province, and town, the people of the commune have contributed and invested nearly 4 billion VND themselves in building and renovating houses, developing production and business, and constructing roads.
Farmers in Tay Hieu commune have also actively participated in new, highly effective cooperative models. To date, the average income has reached 55.5 million VND per person per year. The poverty rate has decreased to 0.83%. Currently, 100% of the commune's main roads and inter-hamlet roads are concreted, equipped with drainage systems, signs, speed bumps, streetlights, trees, and flowerbeds.
Irrigation works are regularly repaired and upgraded, ensuring proactive water supply and drainage. 100% of households in the area use electricity for daily life and have hygienic water storage tanks. The quality of grassroots cultural activities and the "All People Unite to Build a Culturally Rich Life" movement have been implemented with many positive results. The percentage of culturally exemplary families reached nearly 96%; all 11 hamlets in the commune achieved the title of culturally exemplary village; and all 5 units in culture, health, education, and social welfare are ensured.
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Chu Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Thai Hoa Town Party Committee, affirmed: The recognition of Tay Hieu as an advanced new rural commune is a great encouragement and motivation for the commune to continue to develop further in the next stage. Therefore, in the coming time, the Party Committee and the commune government will continue to strengthen guidance and management, and implement specific solutions to maintain and improve the quality of the criteria. Focus on economic development and increasing people's income through further promoting the transformation of production and business. At the same time, preserve and promote the fine traditional cultural values of the homeland.
At the ceremony, the People's Committee of Tay Hieu commune was honored to receive the Certificate recognizing the commune as having achieved advanced new rural standards in 2023 and was awarded a public welfare project worth 600 million VND by the Provincial People's Committee. Also on this occasion, two collectives and two individuals from the commune received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in building the commune to meet advanced new rural standards. The People's Committee of Thai Hoa town and the People's Committee of Tay Hieu commune also awarded commendations to four collectives and twelve individuals.
