Ceremony to welcome General Secretary To Lam on his state visit to Azerbaijan
Within the framework of the state visit to Azerbaijan from May 7-8, on the afternoon of May 7 (local time), a solemn welcoming ceremony was held at the Presidential Palace for General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with the high-level Vietnamese delegation. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife presided over the ceremony.
The motorcade carrying General Secretary To Lam and his wife arrived at the Presidential Palace. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife came out to the parking area to greet General Secretary To Lam and presented his wife, Ngo Phuong Ly, with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Afterwards, President Ilham Aliyev and his wife, along with General Secretary To Lam and his wife, proceeded to the place of honor.
The Honor Guard commander greeted the General Secretary and his wife on their state visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan. The military band played the national anthems of Vietnam and Azerbaijan. Following this, the Honor Guard marched past the honor platform. After the parade, President Ilham Aliyev and his wife, along with General Secretary To Lam and his wife, proceeded into the Presidential Palace for a group photo.

This state visit to Azerbaijan by General Secretary To Lam and his wife, along with the high-level Vietnamese delegation, is the highest-level visit by a Vietnamese Party and State leader to Azerbaijan since the two countries established official diplomatic relations in 1992, contributing to further strengthening cooperative relations, especially in areas where Azerbaijan has strengths.
