The opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games drew much criticism for its flaws.
Alongside the spectacular performances, the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games faced harsh criticism for several "flaws" that were deemed "terrible".
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, in a speech in the Romanian city of Băile Tusnad, broadcast by M1 TV on July 27, stated that the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris showed that the West no longer has a common moral foundation.

Besides the spectacular performances, the 2024 Olympics also faced several mishaps, such as the flag being hung incorrectly, the South Korean national team being mistakenly introduced as North Korean athletes, and artistic performances that angered television viewers, prompting them to exclaim, "What's going on?"
"The West believes that nation-states no longer exist. As a result, they deny that there is a common culture and a common morality built upon that foundation. If you watch the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, you will see that no common moral values exist anymore," said Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
According to Orban, even in such circumstances, the Central European countries protected their shared national culture, creating a common set of values and shared moral standards.
Meanwhile, American entrepreneur Elon Musk wrote on social media that the performances featuring transgender people at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games were a blatant display of disrespect.
Russian President Vladimir Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov told TASS that some aspects of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris were "absolutely appalling."
According to Peskov, the ceremony could not have been held without the approval and consent of the International Olympic Committee. “From the experience of the 2014 Olympics, I know that the entire scenario was coordinated with the International Olympic Committee. We have known about France’s peculiarities for a long time, but the fact is that this was approved by the IOC,” said the press secretary of the Russian President.
Peskov noted that one can now “begin to sympathize with the fate of the International Olympic Committee,” because “they have embarked on a slippery slope.”
