The rice field of Mrs. Lo Thi Thoa's family in Na Khom village (Yen Na - Tuong Duong - Nghe An) is near the village, so it doesn't take much effort. In just one morning, she harvested a basketful of rice. The rice is then boiled to make sticky rice, an indispensable offering during the harvest festival.

After being boiled, the rice is dried in the kitchen attic and then pounded or milled using a rice milling machine. Afterward, it is steamed. In this ceremony, the steamed rice consists of two parts: a white portion of old rice and a darker portion of freshly cooked rice made from young, tender rice grains.
