A collective birthday celebration for 167 elderly people reaching even-numbered birthdays was held at Gam Pagoda.
(Baonghean.vn) - On February 13th (the 9th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Pig), Chi Linh Pagoda (Gam Pagoda), in coordination with Xuan Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, solemnly organized the Spring Longevity Celebration.
The ceremony was attended by 167 elderly people, including those with even ages of 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, etc., residing in Xuan Thanh commune.
The ceremony took place at Chi Linh Pagoda in a warm atmosphere, where the elderly enjoyed cultural performances celebrating the Lunar New Year and longevity, presented by the Elderly Association of Xuan Thanh Commune, the Yen Thanh District Charity Club, and Ha Quynh Nhu, the winner of The Voice Kids Vietnam 2018.

At the ceremony, Venerable Thich Tue Minh, abbot of Chi Linh Pagoda, happily extended New Year greetings to the elderly, emphasizing that the Spring Longevity Celebration is a manifestation of moral principles."When you drink water, remember the source."Filial piety of children and grandchildren towards their grandparents and parents, and the respect of society for the elderly, are beautiful aspects of Vietnamese traditional culture. The Venerable Monk wished the elderly good health and longevity, so that they may serve as role models for their descendants.
