The exemption from vehicle registration fees for electric cars has been extended until the end of 2030, according to Decree 202/2026/ND-CP.
The government has officially finalized a plan to extend the initial registration fee of 0% for battery-powered electric vehicles until December 31, 2030, in order to promote the green transition roadmap.

The Ministry of Finance is drafting a Decree amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 10/2022/ND-CP dated January 15, 2022 of the Government regulating registration fees.
From today (December 1st), the 50% reduction in vehicle registration fees for domestic cars has ended.
From December 1st, 2024, the policy of reducing vehicle registration fees by 50% for domestically produced cars will end. The fees will be applied again according to Decree 10/2022/ND-CP.
