Le Quyen often torments herself to find the emotions to sing bolero.
The female singer wants to aim for a more gentle and tender tone in the album "Old Love Songs 5" scheduled to be released in January 2019.
Singer Le Quyen wears ao dai to take photos to promote her album "Old Love Songs 5". The photo series has a nostalgic style, expressing the spirit of bolero music in the album. |
The product consists of 14 songs, divided into 2 parts. Part 1 includes songs that were loved by many people such as: "Rain through empty streets", "Pity", "Hen date"... |
In the following part, the "queen of the tea room" combines students from the "Bolero Idol" contest such as Trieu Quan, Manh Dong, Y Linh... The singer of "Sad and lonely" hopes that this will be a beautiful memory as well as a stepping stone to help students develop their artistic activities more after the contest. |
Pursuing bolero music, according to Le Quyen, is a way to contribute to preserving cultural values: "Old music is like a priceless work of art left behind by the previous generation of musicians in huge quantities. Adding a young singer to sing old music is another person helping to spread those songs." |
However, Le Quyen believes that artists must cherish their emotions, life experiences, and knowledge to be able to sing old music. |
"The more suffering an artist experiences, the more emotional and deep he or she will sing. Sometimes, I hurt myself, remembering my free time to suppress my emotions. After finishing an album, I often fall into a state of sadness, not wanting to talk to anyone," Le Quyen shared. |
In the new album, Le Quyen wants to express a more gentle and tender way of handling the songs. Musicians Tan Phong, Vinh Tam, and Huu An are close collaborators who continue to help her make the album, scheduled to be released in January 2019. |
