Funeral for 22 soldiers held on October 22
22 soldiers of Defense Economic Group 337 were given a joint funeral with military ceremony on October 22.
Funeral byCommand of Military Region 4 presided over, the visitation ceremony will be from 7am to 10am at the Quang Tri Province multi-purpose gymnasium, where the bodies are being kept. The memorial service and procession will be from 10am to 11am. The burial ceremony will be held immediately afterwards at the martyrs' cemeteries or according to the wishes of each family.

Yesterday, October 19, the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 4 signed a decision to posthumously promote the rank of22 soldiers of Defense Economic Group 337 diedwhen performing the task of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters. 22 soldiers including 4 officers, 10 professional soldiers, 8 soldiers. The person with the highest rank is colonel.
Previously, at 1am on October 18, a landslide suddenly occurred, collapsing onto the houses of the 337th National Defense Economic Group in Cop village, Huong Phung commune, Huong Hoa district (Quang Tri). 5 people were rescued, 22 people were buried. By the afternoon of October 19, all were found.
The 337th Defense Economic Group is on duty in 5 border communes in the particularly difficult areas of Huong Hoa district. In October, the group carried out the task of overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, rescue and relief in the area where it was stationed under the direction of the Military Region 4 Command and the request of the local government.
