Leicester City's first Champions League home game was against Porto. Manager Claudio Ranieri's team did not disappoint the packed King Power Stadium crowd, defeating the Portuguese giants to earn six points from two matches. They even scored four goals and conceded none, despite this being their first appearance in the world's most prestigious club competition.
Leicester's hero in this match was Islam Slimani. The striker, who arrived on the last day of the summer transfer window for a club-record fee of $36.6 million, scored the only goal with a header in the 25th minute. The Algerian forward has a knack for scoring against Porto, as this was his sixth goal in four previous encounters with the club.Slimani previously played for Sporting CP in the Portuguese league.

Last weekend in the Premier League, after falling behind 4-0 to Man Utd in the first half, manager Ranieri realized his team was losing and quickly substituted Riyad Mahrez, Jamie Vardy, and Marc Albrighton to conserve his players' energy. This decision allowed Leicester City to field their strongest possible team against Porto.
Coach Ranieri also surprised everyone by having Leicester attack down the flanks. The reigning Premier League champions constantly used high crosses into the opponent's penalty area. And in the situation where Albrighton crossed the ball from the left wing to the right for Mahrez, the home team scored. After a skillful move,Mahrez delivers a pass.Slimani bypassed the entire Porto defense, allowing him to head the ball into Iker Casillas' net.
After scoring the opening goal, Leicester dropped deep, focusing on defense and waiting for opportunities. The defending Premier League champions had a perfect game, blocking every route to Kasper Schmeichel's goal.
Throughout the entire match, the Leicester defense made only one mistake, but luck was on their side. That was in the 84th minute, when Schmeichel rushed out inaccurately, colliding with teammate Robert Huth. The ball rebounded, and Corona immediately struck the rebound. All the Leicester players could only watch as the ball hit the post.
The 1-0 scoreline remained until the end of the match, giving Leicester their second consecutive Champions League victory. Both wins came after Ranieri's team were thrashed 4-1 by Liverpool and Manchester United respectively in the Premier League.
