The waterfall originates from the Zambezi River, when reaching Victoria Falls gorge on the Zambia-Zimbabwe border, the water suddenly falls freely more than 100m down the cliff creating a majestic scene. Water from above falls into the deep abyss, creating a mist of rain up to half a kilometer high. That is why Victoria Falls is also known as Mosi-oa-Tunya - meaning the-screaming-smoke.
Victoria Falls is truly a magnificent sight, a natural wonder of the world, according to CNN and many other prestigious organizations. Victoria Falls is 1,800m wide and 100m high, with a flow rate of up to 7,500m3, forming a giant white foam waterfall.
Even from 40km away, you can still see the layer of water vapor like a thin mist rising from the bottom of the waterfall. Victoria Falls is twice as high and one and a half times longer than Niagara Falls, located on the US-Canada border. Every second, Victoria Falls throws down a depth of more than 100m, about 1,100m.3water and is the waterfall with the largest water flow in the world.
Victoria Falls consists of four sections: Devil's Falls, Main Falls, Rainbow Falls and Eastern Falls, which are separated by islands and natural reefs. A railway bridge near the falls was built in 1905 to serve the tourism industry.
Visitors can travel by boat across the bridge to experience the exciting feeling when coming to this land. But to fully see Victoria Falls, you should buy a helicopter tour service.
There are 2 types of tours for you to choose from: 15-minute flight tour for 150 USD and 25-minute tour for 280 USD. From the helicopter you will admire the majesty of Victoria Falls and you will find the falls breathtakingly beautiful.
