(Baonghean.vn) - At dusk, a row of tents and stalls serving tourists in the eco-tourism area on the Giang River suddenly caught fire and burned down for unknown reasons.

On April 24th, Mr. Luong Van Tuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Mon Son commune (Con Cuong district), stated that the authorities are coordinating with the Border Guard Post and the Con Cuong District Police to investigate and verify the incident of a restaurant serving tourists being completely destroyed by fire at the beach on the Giang River.

The three burnt-out eateries all belonged to the family of Ms. Nguyet Thuy and her husband in Lang Xieng village, Mon Son commune, about 6km from the Pha Lai dam scenic area. These eateries had been serving tourists on Giang River cruises for over three years. Mr. Thuy, Ms. Nguyet's husband, was a boat driver serving tourists.

Ms. Nguyet recounted: At dusk on April 23rd, after preparing enough food to serve the meals that tourists had ordered in advance, the couple went by boat back to the market near their house to get more food. More than an hour later, when they returned, all three of their makeshift stalls (built with thatch, bamboo, and reeds) were engulfed in flames and completely destroyed in a short time.
