Pension payment schedule for January and February 2025
Provincial and city social insurance agencies have announced the schedule for paying pensions and allowances for January and February 2025 in a single payment period before the Lunar New Year 2025.

According to Vietnam Social Security, in implementation of Directive No. 45/CT-TTg dated December 18, 2024, of the Prime Minister, Vietnam Social Security will organize the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February 2025 as follows:
Vietnam Social Security will allocate funds to pay pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February 2025 to provincial and city social security offices concurrently with the January 2025 pension and social insurance benefit payment period, including both those receiving payments in cash and those receiving payments via personal accounts.
Vietnam Social Security requires provincial and city social security agencies to report to local Party committees and authorities on the plan for implementing the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February 2025, concurrently with the payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for January 2025.
The payment of monthly pensions and social insurance benefits to beneficiaries via individual bank accounts for January and February 2025 will be made concurrently with the January 2025 payment period, ensuring full and timely payment to beneficiaries.
Schedule for combined payment of two months' pension before the Lunar New Year 2025 in provinces and cities.
In HanoiThe Hanoi Social Insurance agency has developed a plan to pay pensions and allowances for January and February 2025 in a single payment period in January for nearly 600,000 people. The Hanoi Social Insurance agency anticipates making payments on January 2-3, 2025.
In Ho Chi Minh CityThe City Social Insurance agency announces the schedule for the combined payment of pensions and social insurance benefits for January and February 2025, using two methods:
Payments via personal accounts, pensions, and allowances for January and February 2025 will be transferred to beneficiaries' accounts starting from January 2nd, 2025 (as January 1st is New Year's Day).
The second installment of pension and allowance payments (for cases where monthly pension and allowance payments are processed between December 21st and January 17th, 2025) will be transferred on January 23rd, 2025.
Ho Chi Minh City Post Office will make cash payments from January 4, 2025 to February 25, 2025 (excluding weekends, holidays, and Tet as regulated).
In Nam DinhRegarding pension and allowance payments via individual accounts, the Social Insurance agency of Nam Dinh province will implement electronic payment orders from January 2, 2025, for beneficiaries throughout the province.
The provincial Social Insurance agency, in coordination with the provincial Post Office, will organize the payment of pensions and allowances in cash during the same period as the January 2025 payment period for beneficiaries. Specifically, from January 5th to January 8th, 2025, payments will only be made at Post Office payment points. From January 9th, 2025 to February 24th, 2025, payments will be made at Post Offices in the districts and Nam Dinh city.
In An GiangThe Provincial Social Insurance agency, in coordination with the Provincial Post Office, will organize the combined payment of two months' pension and allowances via individual bank accounts on January 3, 2025. Cash payments will be made to beneficiaries from January 4 to 10 at designated payment points, and from January 11 to 24, 2025 at post office transaction points.
In cases where the beneficiary is elderly, lonely, sick, or infirm and unable to go to a payment point to receive their pension and social insurance benefits, the post office will organize direct payment at the beneficiary's home.
Thus, nearly 3.4 million people will receive their monthly pensions and allowances for January and February 2025 before the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake; of which more than 2.5 million will receive payments via bank transfer, and the remaining approximately 1 million will receive them in cash.
