Official 2025 Summer Vacation Schedule for Students in 63 Provinces and Cities Nationwide
Most localities will organize the closing ceremony of the 2024-2025 school year before May 31 and let students have summer vacation starting June 1.
According to the 2024-2025 school year plan of the Ministry of Education and Training, the first semester will end before January 18; the program will be completed and the school year will end before May 31; the recognition of completion of primary school program and recognition of secondary school graduation will be considered before May 30; and enrollment for first-grade classes will be completed before July 31. The 2025 high school graduation exam is scheduled to take place on June 26-27. Other national exams will be organized according to the regulations and instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The Ministry of Education and Training stipulates that the school year schedule of localities must ensure 35 weeks of actual study (semester I has 18 weeks, semester II has 17 weeks). The school year schedule must be suitable to the characteristics and practical conditions of the locality.
Holidays and Tet holidays are implemented according to the provisions of the Labor Code and annual guidelines. Teachers' annual leave is implemented during the summer break or can be arranged alternately at other times of the year to suit the specific characteristics and school year schedule of the locality.
Depending on the end of the first semester, students in some localities may have a summer break one week earlier. According to Hanoi regulations, the end of the school year is May 30. Meanwhile, in Ho Chi Minh City, the end of the school year is before May 31. An Giang ends the second semester on May 23 and the year-end summary takes place in the last week of May depending on the school. Ba Ria-Vung Tau will summarize the school year from May 24-30. Ca Mau ends the second semester on May 24, the backup week after the end of the second semester (completing the program, summarizing the school year) is from May 26-31...
