Official Summer Vacation Schedule for Students in 63 Provinces and Cities Nationwide in 2025
Most localities will hold the closing ceremony for the 2024-2025 school year before May 31st and allow students to go on summer vacation starting June 1st.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training's plan for the 2024-2025 school year, the first semester will end before January 18th; the curriculum will be completed and the school year will end before May 31st; the completion of the primary school curriculum and the awarding of junior high school diplomas will be considered before May 30th; and enrollment for the first grades of each level will be completed before July 31st. The 2025 high school graduation exam is expected to take place on June 26th-27th. Other national-level exams will be organized according to the regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training.
The Ministry of Education and Training stipulates that the school year schedule of localities must ensure 35 weeks of actual learning (18 weeks in the first semester and 17 weeks in the second semester). The school year schedule must be appropriate to the characteristics and practical conditions of the locality.
Public holidays are observed according to the Labor Code and annual guiding documents. Teachers' annual leave is taken during the summer break or may be arranged intermittently at other times of the year to suit the specific characteristics and annual school year schedule of the locality.
Depending on the end date of the first semester, students in some localities may have their summer break a week earlier. According to Hanoi's regulations, the school year ends on May 30th. Meanwhile, in Ho Chi Minh City, the school year ends before May 31st. An Giang ends the second semester on May 23rd, and the end-of-year summary takes place in the last week of May, depending on the school. Ba Ria-Vung Tau will summarize the school year from May 24th to 30th. Ca Mau ends the second semester on May 24th, with a contingency week after the end of the second semester (completing the curriculum and summarizing the school year) from May 26th to 31st...
