U22 Vietnam will participate in the CFA Team China - Panda Cup 2025 International Football Tournament taking place from November 12 to 18 in Chengdu (Sichuan, China).
This year's tournament brings together four of Asia's top youth teams, including U22 Vietnam, U22 Korea, U22 Uzbekistan and host U22 China. This is a highly professional tournament, considered an important stepping stone before the 2026 AFC U23 Championship Finals.

U22 Vietnam meets U22 China in the opening match
According to the schedule, U22 Vietnam will start the Panda Cup campaign with a match against host U22 China at 6:35 p.m. on November 12. After that, the team will continue to face U22 Uzbekistan (November 15) and close the tournament with a match against U22 Korea (November 18).
This is the third consecutive time that U22 Vietnam has been invited to the Panda Cup. The most recent time in March 2025, the team made a strong impression when they were undefeated in all three matches and won third place overall. That achievement helped young Vietnamese players gain valuable experience before entering major tournaments in the region.

U22 Vietnam focuses on strong forces, aiming for high results
Immediately after arriving in Chengdu, U22 Vietnam had their first training session on the afternoon of November 11 to get used to the field and adjust their biological rhythm. The team brought a force consisting of many prominent faces who had just participated in the 2026 AFC U23 qualifiers, including Dinh Bac, Van Khang, Thanh Nhan, Quoc Viet and Bui Vi Hao.
The coaching staff expects U22 Vietnam to make the most of the opportunity to compete at the Panda Cup 2025 to test their tactical ability, coordinate between lines and try out new positions. Matches with strong opponents like U22 Korea or Uzbekistan are considered a measure of the true ability of the young Vietnamese players.

U22 Vietnam continues training before SEA Games 33
After finishing the Panda Cup, U22 Vietnam will return home and enter an important training phase for the 33rd SEA Games. From November 23, the team will gather in Vung Tau, practice physical strength and tactics before leaving for Thailand on December 2. At this year's congress, U22 Vietnam is in Group B with U22 Malaysia and U22 Laos - a group of opponents that are considered to be of equal strength but pose many potential challenges.
The goal of U22 Vietnam is to reach the semi-finals, while affirming the position of Vietnamese youth football in the region. Careful preparation at the Panda Cup 2025 is considered an important stepping stone to help the team have a solid foundation to confidently enter the journey to defend the national flag.
