(Baonghean.vn) - Since taking charge of Phu Yen parish, An Hoa commune (March 10, 2014 to present), priest Dang Huu Nam has had many activities that go against the spirit of "living a good life, living a good religion" of Catholics, causing discontent among the people and public opinion, damaging the image of a priest -The "good" shepherd of God's people, has made it so that "we Catholics in Phu Yen parish have not been able to do business in peace since Father Nam came to the parish until now".

Recent incidents of unrest at An Hoa parish include: Taking advantage of the fish deaths in the sea of ​​4 central provinces: Priest Dang Huu Nam hung and hung many banners and billboards on Highway 537B, in front of the gate of Phu Yen parish church, causing traffic safety risks for passersby, some slogans had offensive content, not true. Regularly calling on parishioners to bring banners and slogans related to the prosecution, boycott of Formosa and environmental issues to march on the parish road and the boat dock in front of Phu Yen parish church. Organizing parishioners to attend environmental prayer ceremonies at other parishes in the area, at Van Thai (Son Hai) and Manh Son (Tien Thuy) parishes, complicating the security and order situation.

The road to An Hoa parish is full of provocative and inciting slogans.

On September 26, 2016, priest Dang Huu Nam organized over 500 parishioners from Phu Yen parish, An Hoa commune; Manh Son parish, Tien Thuy commune; Song Ngoc parish, Quynh Ngoc commune... to go to the People's Court of Ky Anh district, Ha Tinh province to file a lawsuit against Formosa Company, causing disorder.

To attract and gather some gullible parishioners, Priest Nam fabricated that if he sued, he would be compensated about 15 billion VND, the cost of the lawsuit would be 1.5 billion VND, and when the compensation was received, it would be divided among the parishioners... However, later, the People's Court of Ky Anh town returned the lawsuit because the petition and documents of the people who filed the lawsuit did not provide documents or evidence to prove the damages.

On October 3, 2016, priest Dang Huu Nam said that the government was making it difficult and easy to confirm procedures related to filing a lawsuit against Formosa Company, so he rang the church gong and turned on the loudspeaker to call on parishioners to go to the headquarters of the People's Committee of An Hoa commune; some extremists beat and tore off the official sign of the Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune, beat the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, and staff of the People's Committee Office of the commune. Some subjects also used helmets to beat Mr. Hoang Van Trinh, Chairman of the Veterans Association, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Trinh, an officer of the Red Cross Association, and Deputy Chief of the Commune Police.

In the following days, Father Dang Huu Nam continued to preach, inciting parishioners to complain about the Court’s rejection of their petition. Father Dang Huu Nam issued a so-called “Press Release” declaring that “on October 18, 2016, about 1,000 people in Quynh Luu District, Nghe An Province will travel more than 200km to the People’s Court of Ky Anh Town to continue filing a lawsuit against Formosa and to complain about the Ky Anh Court’s rejection of their petition.” However, things did not go as Father Nam intended.

In addition, priest Nam also incited some parishioners to oppose local policies and activities such as: instructing those who won the bid for 55 plots of land in Tan An village, An Hoa commune not to pay the remaining land money, with the aim of putting pressure on authorities at all levels, requiring the authorities to dismantle the Tan An village cultural house and open a traffic route to the area of ​​55 new plots of land.

On August 14, 2016, some citizens of Tan An village, An Hoa commune, arbitrarily dismantled 5.5m in front and 5.5m behind the wall surrounding the cultural house of Tan An village, An Hoa commune. On August 15, 2016, the district working group and the People's Committee of An Hoa commune organized an inspection of the scene to serve the investigation and handling of the case according to the provisions of law. However, while the working group was performing its duties, the gong of Phu Yen parish church was heard and immediately about 20 young men came out to prevent the working group from performing their duties, forcing the members of the working group to leave the scene; some extremists chased and beat the land and construction officials of the People's Committee of An Hoa commune, causing them to be hospitalized.

Not stopping there, taking advantage of preaching in church, priest Nam continuously spoke ill of and distorted the policies of our Party and State, denied the revolutionary achievements that our country and people have achieved, including the contributions of Catholic dignitaries and followers, causing outrage among the people; asked parishioners not to pay fees and taxes collected by the People's Committee of the commune and the contributions at the beginning of the school year of schools...

On the morning of October 8, 2016, Father Dang Huu Nam directed the Pastoral Council of Phu Yen parish and about 50 parishioners who are parents of students to go to An Hoa Primary School to question the Board of Directors about the fees collected at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year.

Most recently, on November 12, 2016, priest Dang Huu Nam beat Nguyen Van Luc, a 9D student at An Hoa Secondary School, for no reason. At that time, Mr. Ho Vinh Lai (living in Quyet Thang hamlet, An Hoa commune) passed by and saw the incident and came to intervene. When he was stopped, priest Nam incited parishioners to beat Mr. Lai, causing him serious injuries and requiring him to be taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Mr. Lai was treated at Quynh Luu Hospital with many injuries on his body.

The act of quarreling and assaulting people by priest Nam did not only happen this time. Previously, on December 31, 2015, on the way, priest Nam had a collision with Mr. Ho Vinh Loi (residing in Toan My hamlet, An Hoa), the two sides had a scuffle and fought. After returning to the church, priest Nam also announced on the loudspeaker to the parishioners that he was beaten and claimed that the government had directed, so they incited nearly 1,000 parishioners to go to the headquarters of the People's Committee of An Hoa commune to put pressure...

Many activities of priest Dang Huu Nam in the past were not in accordance with the duties and responsibilities of a Catholic dignitary; many behaviors and conduct were not in accordance with the role of a priest. Those actions have complicated security and order and affected the lives and labor of the people, including fishermen of Phu Yen parish; negatively affected the relationship between Catholics and non-Catholics and the image and reputation of the Catholic Church, even pushing some gullible parishioners to commit illegal acts.

The above actions of priest Dang Huu Nam seriously violated the provisions of the law of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Catholic canon law./.
