To solve the problem of drying clothes during the rainy months, Captain Pham Van Dong - General Staff, 215th Armored Brigade came up with the idea and successfully created the "Smart clothes drying rack".
According to Captain Dong, the smart clothes drying rack consists of the following parts: clothes storage, running rails, running motor, electrical circuit system, sensors and finally the energy of the drying rack... In which, the rails are one of the most important parts of the drying rack. The rails are made of aluminum, using a ball bearing mechanism combined with an axle, the structure is similar to a train wheel on the rail to pull clothes in and out quickly and accurately.
The operating principle of the automatic drying rack is that when it starts to rain, water drops will fall on the rain sensor mounted on the rack, the circuit transmits the signal to the motor, causing the motor to rotate and pull the clothes into the clothes storage through the runners on the rail.
When the clothes are put into the hanger, the ventilation fan system will operate, ensuring that the humidity in the rack does not increase due to the water vapor evaporating from the clothes. When the rain stops, the clothes will be automatically pulled out. When the drying rack is not in use, the solar energy will be used to charge the backup battery…

The drying rack can operate anywhere and can be easily moved to another place. In particular, the drying rack has a fast speed of pulling clothes in, does not consume electricity for the family, reduces electricity costs and is environmentally friendly.
The drying rack is designed to be 6m long, 1.9m high and 1.5m wide and can hold 40-50 clothes hangers. The dome-shaped storage house made of aluminum will increase durability when outdoors. The total cost of the product is nearly 5 million VND. For small families, a smaller product can be made at a cost of 1.5-2 million VND.
Colonel Phan Hai Long - Brigade Commander of the 215th Armored Brigade commented: “This product has just won first prize at the 2017 contest for innovative teaching aids, which is very useful for the unit. In the near future, Captain Dong's Smart Clothes Drying Rack product will be transferred to Hanoi to participate in the Corps-level technical innovation contest. Hopefully, the product will win a high prize and be widely used not only in the military but also for all people to use.”
