Coming to Nghe An, tourists cannot help but visit the temple of King Quang Trung - a spiritual cultural work with many majestic and mysterious features. Especially every time Tet comes, thousands of people from all over the country flock here to worship and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the land and sky.

220 years ago, after ascending the throne and marching north to fight against the Qing invaders, when stopping in his homeland of Nghe An, Emperor Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue commented: "Yen Truong land has an important strategic position and is favorable for building the capital".

Therefore, on September 3, the 11th year of Thai Duc (October 1, 1788), Emperor Quang Trung sent an edict to La Son Phu Tu Nguyen Thiep to decide to choose this land to establish the capital, named Phuong Hoang - Trung Do. Right on this ancient land, exactly 220 years later, on May 7, 2008, the temple of King Quang Trung was inaugurated.

Phuong Hoang Citadel became a historical landmark in the life and great career of Emperor Quang Trung, becoming a mark for the formation and development of Vinh City later. The Temple of Emperor Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue was built on the second peak of Dung Quyet Mountain, 92 m above sea level. The project includes main items such as the Front Hall, Middle Hall, Back Hall, Ta Vu House, Huu Vu House... designed to be grand and in harmony with nature. The temple is the wish of the people to honor the national hero, this has become an attractive cultural and tourist destination for visitors.

Every year, the Quang Trung Emperor Temple has two major holidays: the 29th day of the 7th lunar month - the death anniversary of the Quang Trung Emperor, and the 5th day of the 1st lunar month - the Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da Victory Day. Especially on the occasion of the Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da Victory Anniversary, the Quang Trung Emperor Temple organizes a ceremony to issue seal cards to bless and pray for everyone and every family to have peace and luck in the new year.

In addition to enjoying the spiritual and cultural values, admiring the beautiful natural scenery and the sacred and quiet atmosphere of the Quang Trung Emperor Temple, visitors also have the opportunity to enjoy the special flavor of "special Che Vang" harvested by the Management Board from natural Che Vang trees on Dung Quyet Mountain where the temple is located.

Every year on the 5th day of the first lunar month, people from all over the province will go to the Quang Trung King Temple Festival. The Quang Trung King Temple Festival is held to honor the great contributions of the national hero Quang Trung - Nguyen Hue who fought against foreign invaders and unified the country; to meet the needs of enjoying and creating spiritual and cultural values ​​and the people's feelings towards Emperor Quang Trung; to continue to propagate, widely promote and develop the spiritual and cultural values ​​of the Quang Trung King Temple, associated with activities to develop services and tourism.

This year, the 228th anniversary of Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da victory will be held solemnly, safely and economically; the ceremony to commemorate Emperor Quang Trung will be solemn, creating a sacred atmosphere, oriented towards the origin, following the correct procedures and instructions of the authorities. Up to this point, all preparations for the Anniversary have been deployed by Vinh City People's Committee and specifically assigned to members. In particular, attention will be paid to propaganda work on mass media before, during and after the anniversary so that people inside and outside the province can know.
