Preview of episode 9 of the series "The Lone Path".
In the preview for episode 9 of the series "The Lone Path," Quân "the old man" returns to Mây village but doesn't reveal himself openly. Instead, he disguises himself as a chef to approach Hồng. When serving Hồng a dish, Quân intentionally adds extra salt.
"Because I wanted to help you relieve your stress, I increased the saltiness of the dish," Quân "the old man" said meaningfully. He wanted Hồng to feel the regret, as if the dish would taste better if it were a little less salty. It's like life; things don't always go as planned, and there are two choices: accept reality or give up. Hồng immediately praised it: "Excellent!"
Previously, while living in May village and frequently buying information from Ly "Toet," Hong had heard about Quan "Gia" – the underworld boss in May village. Years ago, Quan "Gia" was a subordinate of Hong's foster father, Le Toan.
In the preview clip for episode 9, Hong continues to seek more information from Ly "Toet" (Trung Ruoi) to learn about her family's past. In the previous episode, Ly "Toet" endured sleeping with a woman he disliked to get the key for Hong. But this time, he asserts: "I won't sell myself short again."
Hong took out some money and asked, "Can I sell it at a high price?" He wanted to buy information about the "thunderbolts," especially Hung "the hoarse." Seeing the money, Ly "the squint-eyed" immediately agreed to sell all the information.
Ly "Toet" revealed that Quan "Gia" and Hung "Khec" had once vied for power, clashing many times. Ultimately, Hung "Khec" lost and had to leave. According to Ly, Hung "Khec" went to sea and is now quite successful. He also sent assassins back to "check on" Quan "Gia".
The days spent in May village helped Hong learn many things about the past of her foster father and his former gang members such as Quan "the old man", Hung "the hoarse", and Duong "the muscular".
"The Lone Path" tells the story of Hong, an unfortunate child who lost both parents and his only remaining relative, as he seeks justice for his family. After this great tragedy, Hong becomes a homeless wanderer and is taken in by Mrs. Moc, the second wife of Le Toan, a former gangster who has since retired. Toan trusts Hong and chooses him to manage the Le family's business empire.
While investigating the cause of his parents' deaths, Hong suspects Mr. Toan is connected to three dangerous drug lords. Hong is drawn into a battle between gratitude and suspicion, between good and evil, as he continues his search for the truth.
While Hong was tracking the drug lords, he was unaware that all his actions, as well as those of his criminal group, were under the surveillance of the police. Lieutenant Colonel Long, the head of the drug investigation department, had been transferred from the province to serve as deputy to Phung, the district police chief; he was also Long's long-time friend.
Long realized Hong was a crucial element in the investigation and decided to use her as part of his crime-solving strategy. Long moved closer to the "kingpins" and the secret drug bunker. As they delved deeper into their goal, Long and Hong discovered that behind the large shipments, the crimes, and the financial gains lay a "history" of "hatred" and "gratitude," where "friendship" turned into "hostility" between people who once considered each other brothers and comrades on the same front...
The film centers around Hong, a victim of crime, exposing the conspiracy of those who, for money, spread "white death" (heroin) throughout society. The film helps viewers better understand the police force – those who silently sacrifice themselves, facing dangers to protect the peace of the nation.
